Till last month, the government was on the back foot. All the bankers were united.
Then something happened on 26th September that was never made public.
Now, the government, which had been trying to sell IDBI Bank for years, has succeeded within 20 days of the deferral of that strike and trying to prove it as a big sign.
Unions became a joke, and bankers are back on the back foot. The 5 day banking week, which many bankers assumed was right around the corner, is nowhere to be seen.
No one is raising their voice.
Wage revision negotiations are expected to begin in the next few months. It will be almost funny this time.
Many finfluencers advocate for a “debt-free life.”
Let’s break it down.
• Taking a loan can be one of the smartest financial decisions you make.
Say you want to buy a house worth ₹1 crore today, but you have only ₹20 lakh. What are you going to do?
A. Use that ₹20 lakh as a down payment and buy the house today?
B. Wait for years until you save the remaining ₹80 lakh?
The problem with the second option is that even if you manage to save ₹80 lakh over the next few years, do you think the house will still cost ₹1 crore?
• A house is an asset.
Banks help you acquire that asset today by financing a major part of its cost. You get to own the house today instead of waiting for years to save the entire amount.
• Home loans are among the cheapest loan products offered by banks.
Compared to personal loans and credit card debt, home loans generally carry much lower interest rates.
• Living in a rented flat isn’t as easy as it sounds.
You won’t always find a good landlord. Last year, I was asked to vacate my flat just five months into the agreement because the landlord decided to sell it.
Let me give you a real life example.
One of my relatives bought a flat for ₹6.25 lakh in 2004 and took a loan of around ₹5.50 lakh for 20 years.
The EMI was around ₹4,500–5,000, which was a significant amount back then. But as his income grew, that ₹5,000 EMI became peanuts.
Today, he earns ₹16,000 a month in rent from that very same property.
His loan ended in 2024. If he decides to sell the property today, he could easily get more than ₹80 lakh for it.
The point is simple.
If you like a property and believe you can comfortably afford the EMI over the next 20 years, don’t necessarily wait 20 years to buy it.
That’s precisely why banks exist… to help you acquire assets today and pay for them over time.
Show me the screenshot of that Rs. 1.35L withdrawal transaction, and I will transfer you Rs. 1100.
Can we please stop this everyday engagement farming in the name of banks and bankers? Every day, some Tom, Dick and Harry with a blue tick starts posting imaginary banking stories.
I urgently needed to withdraw ₹1,35,000 from my SBI bank account.
However, because I had to be at the office until 4 PM, it was not possible for me to visit the bank myself.
So, yesterday, I filled out a cheque for ₹1,35,000, handed it to my brother, and sent him to the bank to withdraw the money.
When my brother reached the bank, the cashier refused to give him the cash.
He said that the person who had issued the cheque also needed to sign on the back of it.
My brother called me and explained that the bank was asking for my signature on the back of the cheque.
I told him, If a signature on the back of the cheque is also required, why is not there a designated space for it ?
The back of the cheque is completely blank.
But the cashier still refused to release the money.
I then asked my brother to speak to the bank manager.
The manager contacted me on my registered mobile number to confirm whether I had actually issued the cheque.
After I confirmed it, the manager allowed my brother to withdraw the cash.
I still do not understand why this option was not considered in the first place when the account holder could be contacted on their registered mobile number to verify the cheque.
Fun fact: Love Mera Hit Hit was among the first few songs to hit 50M on YouTube.
Any pre Jio record deserves a medal of its own. When India had limited internet access, watching a YouTube video meant giving up 15-20 mb out of the 1gb data one would get for Rs. 399 a month.
Was listening to Khudaya Khair from Billu Barber and wondering how this film never got the love it deserved. It genuinely deserved to be a blockbuster..
Irrfan Khan was brilliant and SRK held his own beautifully in scenes with him. Despite being a remake of the Malayalam film Katha Parayumbol, Billu had so much heart. The story, the music and especially the climax made it a memorable film.
We need more such simple, well made comedies like this in Bollywood
2 rest days in the middle of the week have ruined my momentum.
I think the concept of rest days was made up by lazy people. 😂
You train your chest once a week, and it gets 6 days to recover. Why do we need to skip an entire workout just for the sake of a “rest day”?
If budget isn’t an issue, where would you recommend going for a short 3 day vacation in India in October?
PS: Not a big fan of cold places.
Ab hum kal aayenge office aur uske baad seedhe Wednesday. 😌😌
Maybe they declared the holiday today because they won’t be working tomorrow (Saturday).
Unlike bankers who are expected to work like a normal day tomorrow. 😌😌
Money can buy almost everything. Do you think that in the future, when technology evolves enough to bring back your loved ones from the dead, it will cost Rs. 10,000? No, it will cost crores and crores of rupees.
Choose money over everything. The world is cruel to poor people, and if you’re a man, it hates you 10 times more.

And going to the gym late means staying a little late, and man, shady stuff happens there.
I mean, why would a trainer change the music to a seductive song right before helping a teenage girl with her heavy squats sets?
It’s not like people don’t earn enough in India. Many simply underreport their income just to avoid paying taxes.
This year, we’re magically seeing ITRs of Rs. 11.80 lakh, compared to Rs. 6.95 lakh last year and Rs. 4.99 lakh the year before.
Maybe the government should make income up to Rs. 20 lakh tax exempt if it wants India to overtake Bangladesh by 2028. 🥲

Wow!!! All this while, I was sitting on 5,000 GB of free google and gmail storage, thanks to Jio. 😂
Life is sorted for at least the next 18 months!
