Today is Make Music Day – a worldwide celebration of music🎵 Music has an amazing ability to bring people together, and across the country there will be lots of different opportunities to play instruments, sing, dance, listen and enjoy 💃 With support from @YouthMusic we’ve built our confidence and skills in music making over the past couple of years, and seen our young people discover and grow their musical talents! For a bit of inspiration, check out the animated music video we created as part of the Hirst: Together Works project. It’s upbeat, fun and includes lots of amazing insights from young people and families in the Hirst. Big thank you to Musician Calum Howard and Animator @AnimatorSheryl for bringing their ideas to life! Hirst Together Works was kindly funded by @N_landCouncil & @HomesEngland 🔗youtube.com/watch?v=B-q2552i… @MakeMusicDayUK

We were invited by @AshingtonTown Council to host a creative pop up at Ashington Town Market this Summer. We brought along @AnimatorSheryl & folks from the community had the opportunity to have a go at various animation techniques. This is what they collectively made.....we love it! 🤩 We love providing our community with chances to try different creative things & have some playful fun!

Thank you to folks who came out to see us today at Ashington Town Market! We loved offering some opportunities for our community to get creative! Big thank you to Mortal Fools associate artist @AnimatorSheryl for running an animation pop up too, we'll be sharing the community animation created in the next couple of days! And final thank you to @AshingtonTown for inviting us - across our recent Ashington focused community research, folks told us they wanted more free opportunities to try new creative things, & our pop up today, enabled just that! 💜
