Ebola in Kenya: We are 10 years late. The moment Ebola broke out in Congo, we could have adequately prepared for it because it was something that was prevalent. We knew somehow it can get to us. CC @MOH_Kenya #EbolaalertKe

Omanyala Sprints Club set foot at St. Peter’s Mumias, and we were impressed by the school’s love for sports, definitely leaving a foot print. It will be one of our high school sprint hubs in Kakamega County, alongside Kakamega High School. Our next mission is to scout talented young sprinters at primary school games and sponsor them into these schools at grade 10 level, where they will access professional coaching and structured sprint development. Special thanks to my former rugby coach, Mr. Mukoche, and the entire St. Peter’s Mumias fraternity for the warm welcome. The foundation is set. The journey to discovering the next sprint stars continues!

Everyone ought to show effort that they are trying. It’s easier to help someone who is trying to help themselves. It’s another thing to keep helping someone who are 100% dependent on you. We should normalize these ultimatums!

DID YOU KNOW? 🌱 Food insecurity is not just about how much food we produce. It is also about who gets access to the resources needed to grow it. At the World Food Day commemorations at G-BiACK Farm in Thika, one message stood out: we cannot #KomeshaNjaa if agricultural support remains a political favour rather than a right. Under the theme of rethinking technology for sustainable food systems, the conversations went beyond yields to confront the barriers keeping farmers from thriving. 📱 Technology for whom? An agricultural app means little to an elderly farmer who has never received accessible digital training. Innovation must empower farmers, not create new barriers. 🌾 Who gets the inputs? When politicians bypass local agricultural extension officers to distribute farm inputs for political mileage, pregnant women, older persons and persons with disabilities risk being left out. 👩🏾‍🌾 Who gets the support? Women do much of the work of cultivation, yet often face barriers to accessing direct grants and essential agricultural inputs. 💡 What is the way forward? Young people must become innovators and advocates for inclusive food systems where technology, agroecology and indigenous knowledge work together to build resilience. Food security is not just about growing more. It is about ensuring that those who grow our food can access the tools, knowledge and resources they need. #KomeshaNjaa #WorldFoodDay #RightToFood

Billionaire Tyler Perry gave his own family 60 days to find jobs or lose his financial support. Despite being worth an estimated $1.4 billion, he refused to keep supporting relatives who weren't working. In the video below, Perry explains why he fired his own aunt and later gave other family members an ultimatum after his mother's death. He wanted them to become financially independent instead of relying on his fortune. One aunt regularly called asking for money, and Perry kept sending it until he offered her a job. But she repeatedly called in and failed to show up for work, so he eventually fired her. His mother had also asked him to support other relatives, and he continued helping them while she was alive. After she died in 2009, Perry sent them letters giving them 60 days to find employment or lose his financial support. According to Perry, every relative eventually found a job. He didn't care whether the jobs paid well because he wanted them to earn their own money and have something to feel proud of. Perry also recalled a relative getting angry when he refused to hand over $1 million. He believed that continually giving money to people who refused to work was making their dependence worse. A billionaire who could afford to support his entire family chose to make them earn their own living. If you had $1.4 billion, would you keep supporting unemployed relatives or give them the same 60-day ultimatum?

Well @MigunaMiguna ; so if Jomo Kenyatta detained Jaramogi, Bildad Kagia, George Anyona; and President Moi detained Koigi, Edward Oyugi, Raila, Mutunga and exiled others, WHAT WAS WRONG with President Uhuru and His Deputy Ruto breaking into your house, trashing court orders and your birthright as a Kenyan citizen and bundling you into a plane to Canada? Was it right just because other Presidents did it?
This is garbage, @LinusKaikai. Jomo Kenyatta used to foam in the mouth, loudly and consistently curse, hurl epithets, threats and vulgarities almost on a daily basis. Kenyatta routinely swore to “swaga Jaramogi and Luos kama unga” and often described what he purportedly did to Ngina in bed. Daniel Toritich Moi was equally vulgar, violent and threatening on public podiums. The statement“mavi ya kuku” was elevated from village dens to the sanctum of State House and public discourse by none other than the fake gentleman called Mwai Kibaki. Despot Uhuru Kenyatta’s public threats and vulgarities, including against members of the judiciary, is well documented. So are @realDonaldTrump’s daily childish rants, racist threats and vulgarities. So, stop pretending that @WilliamsRuto is doing something new. As much as Ruto has failed in many things, I don’t believe his lexicon has degenerated to the levels of his predecessors. Even your newly minted hero, Raila Odinga, often publicly abused our innocent mothers’ private parts unprovoked. We must critique truthfully and with integrity. Telling the truth is a revolutionary act. #SocialismIsTheSolution #RevolutionNow

I kept my passes from KQ flights 202 and 203 to and fro Mumbai on 15/16 October 2025. I couldn’t tell you what the toughest part of the day was, receiving the news in the morning or taking that flight to Mumbai. But I digress. I want to say Ahsante sana to some key people who made everything possible in very difficult circumstances. 1. The Indian High Commission in Nairobi and the Indian Government. I don’t know how many rules of international travel were bent to make that flight happen. Ahsante sana. 2. @KenyaAirways management and the flight crew led by Capt. Saviemaria Ondego. Absolute class. Bwana on the way back we thought our tears had dried then she hit us with that call change to RAO001 when we entered our airspace. Wacha tu. God bless. 3. The regular passengers on those two flights. Many were bumped off. Heavy seat changes to accommodate the delegation. Long delays especially on flight 202. Many had no idea what was happening until we were airbone and the captain made the announcement. Apologies for the inconveniences on that day, but you were very gracious. God bless. 4. The @kdfinfo . Bwana for the honor extended to Baba, we his people will forever be grateful. Salute🫡

A Chief teaching serious Maths. In the 90s, to qualify to be a chief, one just needed to be able to read & write. Sasa utaona a parliamentarian who can't read or write at a baraza with a chief who can do permutations & combinations. Upside down society & serious underemployment!
