Great to see @AmyTopshee and her friends head down to visit the ships in #Vancouver for #FleetWeek

So.. as a former CAF cook, a "purple trade", why I preferred the navy, from a culture POV.

As I spent my last night at sea, I reflected on the high quality of Sailors I had the privilege of spending the day with. I want to thank @HMCSOttawa for showing the @CDS_CANADA_CEMD and I what highly motivated and professional crews we have in the @RoyalCanNavy

Vice-Admiral Charles Morris Winton "Chuck" Thomas was an inspiration to so many. One of my career highlights was listening to him describe how he delivered the modernization of the Tribal-class destroyers to our Navy. (1/3)
Showing why Fleet Command is at least the second best job in the @RoyalCanNavy – at Ottawa, Ontario
Some parts of my job are exceptionally fun. Spent the morning with #FDU(P) on Thursday, diving in Maple Bay with the newest class of graduating Clearance Divers. My ulterior motive was that I had an advanced promotion to do....so why not do it underwater!
One of many outstanding sailors in the @RoyalCanNavy

When people use “Lima time” when they really mean “Local time”. Lima is Zulu +11. It isn’t your local time zone unless you’re in the Pacific or the Russian Far East.
Just. Say. Local.

Last year Amy had to take this race off to recover from an IT band injury. This year @AmyTopshee has returned from #UBC to crush this long course! Congratulations Amy! #SwimRunVictoria
ALT Number two and number one long course finishers.
Very good thread about the symbolism and significance of the National War Memorial and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier – at Vancouver, British Columbia
An absolutely riveting thread about the power and danger of the sea and the incredible bravery of @ARC_RCAF Search and Rescue crews who regularly and routinely risk their lives to help others – at Capital H (Part 1), British Columbia
Finally a church for @phrontist3r1on ! – at Ottawa, Ontario
Could not resist attending the 106th Anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont Hamel this morning. A poignant reminder that today is also Memorial Day in Newfoundland to honour the incredible sacrifice of the #RoyalNewfoundlandRegiment so many years ago

John was a great shipmate aboard #HMCSAlgonquin
So pleased to see him recognized this way. He has always been leading the way

Had a great meeting with the new SISIP District Manager Kathryn Ritter. SISIP provides free financial, investment, and debt management advice. This is one of the hidden benefits of being a CAF member - not many jobs come with free financial services. Call for an appointment.
This is an absolutely fantastic podcast full of great advice. I encourage all thoughtful people to give it a listen
And, for @WestCoastCmdre , I had time for it because I chose a leisurely walk home instead of the ride you so kindly offered podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcas…
I am incredibly proud of my daughter Charlotte. Read her Instagram post below to see what courage, resilience, and fighting spirit really mean

She’s 13 and sensibly keeps her account private so I’ve screen shot her post
I continue to be inspired by Charlotte’s fight against cancer and especially her courageous and selfless attitude. She’s now completed 3 of 6 rounds of chemo. Please consider supporting her fight

This is an #mustread thread. Thank you, @annalisesharon, for sharing so openly, honestly, and unreservedly. We should all aspire to your example of leadership.
I hardly know where to start with this click-bait ambulance chaser.
1. MGen Dawe hurt me deeply, but he wrote his own letter, don't take that away from him. He's on his own path & he's got the right to struggle just like the rest of us.
