Karen Spillett, deputy head of health advice at Asthma + Lung UK said: “Asthma + Lung UK campaigned hard for the RSV vaccine to be rolled out to vulnerable groups. We are very glad that these vaccines are making a big difference in protecting young babies from becoming severely unwell."
“It is important to stress that RSV is usually harmless. Like most other colds and viruses, it starts with a blocked or runny nose, and in most cases, can be treated at home."
