Dabo postgame: “we played 147 guys today, this is a game that will pay dividends for us in 3-4 years.”
For a program that is as closed minded and walled off as possible, they sure get bothered easily by these kinds of things.
Dabo & Co. keep saying the problem is “execution.” But execution has a talent ceiling. You can coach technique, recognition and fundamentals, but you can’t coach a player into physical abilities he simply doesn’t possess.
If the talent can’t execute what your scheme demands, there are only two answers: upgrade the talent or change the scheme.
Dabo increasingly seems determined to do neither. He wants to run the "Clemson" offense, with his guys, and then demand they execute it at a level that may be beyond their current or even coachable capabilities.
So at what point does “execute better” stop being a solution and just the excuse?
Option 3: Stay and accept a completely different football structure. Clemson empowers a legitimate GM/President of Football Operations with real authority. Dabo remains the head coach. He coaches. He runs practices. He determines the depth chart, schemes and game plan. He recruits. He recommends assistant coaches. But the days of one person having unchecked control over the entire football operation are over.
The GM controls roster construction, scouting, portal strategy, player valuation and the player-compensation budget. Nobody gets a Clemson offer until the GM approves it. The GM can veto roster decisions. The AD retains authority over budgets and employment decisions.
If Dabo accepts it, then go coach football and prove this can work.
If he decides he cannot operate under the organizational structure established by his athletic director and university, then he can resign. (4/5)
What Clemson should NOT do is accept a fourth option where Dabo keeps complete control, refuses meaningful structural changes, the program continues sliding, and everyone says Clemson is helpless because of a $57 million buyout...
1) Negotiate a graceful exit.
2) Pay the full price and make a clean break.
3) Or change the structure around him and require him to work within it.
Those are three very different paths, but all three are preferable to pretending Clemson has no choices at all. (5/5)
Save this tweet. Your money matters. Your attendance matters. Your donations matter. Your loyalty matters. But your opinion? “Quit watching and go away.” That mentality is far more damaging than fans demanding better after a 41-13 home loss.

your reply indicates that you think that those who manage Clemson football give a crap about what you think.
If Clemson isn't playing up to your standards, quit watching and go away.
Clemson was once a program where: “We only lost to #4 Miami by 28” would have been an absurd sentence. Now people are finding positives in it. That's institutional decline.
This is how standards slide. Lose 41-13 at home and celebrate moving the ball. Score 13 and call the offense promising. Give up 41 and say the defense “was there.” Clemson used to measure itself against teams like Miami. Now we’re grading the loss for encouraging signs. That’s the problem.
What part is BS? The loyalty to longtime staff? The refusal to adapt? The way Clemson’s paying for decisions that protect people in Dabo’s circle? You can disagree with the conclusion, but waving it away without addressing any of the evidence is just fanboying with extra words.

I think this is maybe the most BS take of all time
I honestly don’t think Dabo cares about Clemson. His priorities are his players, his family and friends, his foundation, and his staff (in that order). The school itself, its fans, its alumni base, don’t mean a damn thing to him. You don’t see him stepping up to bring the band on the road, etc. Remember when he used to have grand ideas for facility upgrades and fan enhancements? Not anymore.
