⏰Time is running out for Maryland!
Every governor in every state should say yes to this opportunity.
State Sen. Anthony H. Williams, a Democrat who has supported the expansion of charter schools and the state-based tax credits, said he has “gone past the period of being angry to simply confused.” He encouraged Shapiro to opt into the federal program “without delay.”
Another election printing related error in Maryland! Thankfully this time around it was just a sample ballot, but seriously….this vendor needs to go bye-bye-bye!✌️👋 2 printing issues in less than 6 months, the first one with real ballots!
🚨Anne Arundel Voters- Specimen ballots sent out by the @annearundelboe are missing State ballot questions 2 & 3 and the county questions. Yesterday, I directed the LBE to send out corrected specimen ballots in an expediated manner. Review your Ballot here elections.maryland.gov/elect…
“Private school tuition around Baltimore rose 4.4%,” but public school per-pupil spending rose 6.73% in the city, from $23,147 to $24,705…it’s also 13.25% above the statewide average ($21,814). 🤔Yet the public schools are still producing failing grades!

Does your MD sample ballot have all 3 state amendments listed? A household in Anne Arundel didn’t include 2 of the 3 amendments on their sample ballots. Seeing if this is just them & not widespread. Check your sample ballot & let me know.
Crisis Communications 101….what not to do!
There were people who either had no opinion on this who Kelly Clarkson thing or people who sympathized with the Art of Play store. But this response/reaction doesn’t help maintain or earn more support.
Brilliant!
NEW with AUDIO!
I was able to use an AI lip-reading tool to synthesize sound of what @kellyclarkson said at Art of Play.
Dialogue isn't a 100% match, but I think it's close!
Not a good sign. I wasn’t great at college Algebra, but this is basic math I can do in my head! This says a lot about our K-12 education system!
I made an unsettling discovery in my undergraduate class on financial planning last week. While explaining mortgages, I asked my 38 students this question: if you buy a $400,000 house and pay 20% in cash towards the purchase, what will be the amount that you finance?
Not a single student could tell me the answer. Despite the fact that they are all juniors and seniors majoring in business.
I added more questions: what is 30 percent of 80? 60 percent of 90? They didn’t know. The closest they got was when one student said, in response to my query of “40% of 70”, that “I know it’s 4 times 7 but I don’t remember what that is.” Another student helpfully added, “28.”
They explained to me why they couldn’t answer these math questions: they were never taught multiplication tables, percentages or fractions during their K-12 schooling. Instead, they were taught how to use a calculator. Without one, they are not able to do basic arithmetic.
I later asked the dean about this, and he lamented that this isn’t a thing just for our university’s students; it’s a thing for their entire generation, nationwide.
When I was in K-12, the fierce debate among parents and educators was whether to allow calculators in class. The calculators won.
Today, the debate is about AI. And like before, the tech will win. But will that truly be a victory?

Did it on purpose obviously!
Easy question.
How come on the first two Constitutional Amendments there is an explanation of what a yes or no vote means but on Question 3 there is not?

I support the execution of Nidal Hassan. Livestreaming a wheelchair bound paraplegic before a firing squad will not be the PR win some of you seem to think it will be.

Some time soon, Unaffiliated voters will be the 2nd largest registered voter group in Maryland. It's long past time to open our primaries to Unaffiliated voters.
🚨 60% of Maryland voters support OPEN PRIMARIES, according to the latest UMBC poll!
So, should MD change its closed primary system? Yes? No? Why?
Here’s my take in the Baltimore Sun, but I want to hear yours. Agree or disagree with my assessment? 👇

A quick shout-out to @Angelette for her writing about our latest poll.
I really enjoy reading analysis of our work by thoughtful people from different political perspectives.

Here’s my anecdotal takeaway from reactions to the UMBC polls led by @MileahKromer on my FB page.
The Moore vs. Cox poll generated 400+ comments, mostly from pro-Cox supporters calling it biased, fake, inaccurate, you name it.
The next day? CRICKETS. Just TWO comments on the Question 3 redistricting poll.
My theory? Cox supporters generally oppose Q3, liked those poll numbers, and saw no reason to attack the same pollster they criticized the day before.
But what intrigues me more is the silence from Moore supporters. If Q3 is such an important cause, where’s the outrage over its poor showing? Where’s the enthusiasm to turn those numbers around?
Perhaps the bigger takeaway isn’t just that Question 3 is struggling. It’s that even those expected to support it aren’t particularly motivated to defend it.
And in politics, apathy can be just as telling as opposition.
SIDE NOTE: Outside my FB page, Q3 supporters (Fight Back Maryland) attacked the pollster for using “pro-GOP talking points.” Sound familiar? Similar accusations came from Cox supporters just a day earlier.
Apparently, a poll is only credible when you like the results!
As for the pollster, I learned something during my time on the radio: When both sides take turns accusing you of bias, you might just be doing something right.
One day you’re a genius, the next you’re a fraud. Same pollster. Different results. Welcome to the sweet spot, Mileah!
