😊First Temple Session Since My Faith Crisis😊
What an experience! After two years of questioning my faith, I finally felt ready to do a session at the temple. I went with two friends who have played an integral role in helping me recover my faith. One of them actually attended my baptism 27 years ago! That made this trip extra special. To have a friend there who has been with me during the biggest moments of my life was truly a blessing. Heavenly Father did not stop there with delivering the blessings! My other friend showed me how to pull a name from Family Tree so that I could have my own name to take to the temple. Family Tree picked who was ready next. It chose Vincenia Fogler, born in Czechoslovakia in 1827. She was my fourth great-grandmother! A direct family member! It felt so special thinking about her while I was in the session. I was able to pour my heart out to Heavenly Father while in the Celestial room. Through my tears of pain and relief, I was overcome with such peace in my heart. I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
I have an even stronger testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ than I had before my faith crisis. Being reminded that we can only taste the sweet if we have tasted the bitter helped me understand that even though it was extremely hard, I had to go through that experience to gain a better appreciation of what I know to be true. Doctrine and Covenants 29:39: "...for if they never should have bitter they could not know the sweet"
Key takeaways:
I’m ready for my new calling
I’m ready to finish the Pathway program
The new temple video is OUTSTANDING
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is TRUE!!!
I'm watching football with my husband and sons. It's something that brings us all in the same room. How can something that promotes togetherness be against keeping the Sabbath day holy?
We taught the youth the same thing today. But we did add a disclaimer that it's up to their parents. Each person/family interprets this practice in their own way. Let them.

Normally, I would say that you all should follow @EricCMeadows . He is based, funny, intelligent, an excellent French horn player, and an all around amazing guy.
BUT, during the MLB post season, his opinions can't be trusted.
I can't wait until the Dodgers rally up and beat the Brewers. Then Eric and I can be friends again. 🤗

Normally, I would say that you all should be following @Angee_Bee_Rom. She is based, funny, intelligent, and an amazing person.
However, during the MLB post season, she has the absolute worst opinions.
I can't wait to like her again after the Brewers beat the Dodgers.

i should probably introduce myself to everyone who's found their way here lately 🤍
hi, i'm liv (olivia)
i've lived overseas my whole life: South Korea, Russia, Hungary, Georgia, El Salvador. i'm a third-culture kid, fluent in French since i was 10, and i still don't know how to answer "so where are you from?"
i'm also an ex ex-mormon.
i grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and then i walked away. for a while my life was parties and going out and running from whatever i didn't want to feel. eventually that turned into addiction, something i never thought would be part of my story.
i'm not sharing that for shock value or sympathy, im genuinely sharing this because i know someone reading this is right where i was, and i want you to know it isn't the end of your story.
two years ago i started coming back. slowly. awkwardly. and Jesus Christ met me there, not with a lecture but with grace.
it reminds me of the prodigal son: "when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran" (Luke 15:20). that's exactly what it felt like. i was still so far off, and He was already running toward me.
since then:
– i went to the temple and received my endowment
– i graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in political communications
– i'm now working at FamilySearch, for the same Church i once walked away from (still can't get over that one)
that's what this account is about. inspire with olivia isn't about having it all figured out. it's about becoming more like Him, and hopefully helping you feel a little closer to Him too.
wherever you are, whether you're staying, leaving, coming back, or just curious, you're welcome here.
the Church is true, Jesus is real, and it's never too late to come home 🤍🫂

Your loved one who has stepped away from the faith already has a Savior. He is infinitely loving and mighty to save. They are in very capable, nail-scarred hands. Trying to control their faith usually creates more hurt. Letting the Lord be their Savior frees you to be their mom, their brother, their friend. Jesus Christ is working on them, and He's working on you too. The Lord sees far more than a membership record; He sees their heart. So let go of fixing, and enjoy the wonderful person in front of you.

I have felt God‘s presence in His temple so many times. So. Many. Times. A man can tell me his interpretation of the Bible all he wants, but will never change what I have felt and seen in the House of the Lord.
Here’s my house @EricCMeadows Grok nailed it!

Post your favorite fall photo.
I went to Alaska in the fall a couple years ago. Late September counts ;). These chunkers were guzzling up the salmon. It was an amazing sight!
I drove down to Fairview Canyon yesterday and snapped this shot of the road bending through the glowing aspens. This is one of my favorite spots in the state for fall foliage, I think this photo explains why. #utwx
I'm so glad this was posted. I used the same concept to navigate through my own faith crisis. I posted this on my old X account that I deleted. Here it is again.
I'm so grateful that I'm even more solid in my testimony that when I wrote this.
Rocks of Faith- August 2025
I've been going through a faith crisis for the past year. It's been one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. I had so many doubts piling up that seemed insurmountable. These doubts appeared as rocks weighing down a scale. Thankfully, my heart began to soften over time and I was able to see blessing of the gospel in my life. Every time the Holy Ghost spoke to me, every time I counseled with friends, every message from my Bishop, each and every blessing big or small, I would add to a different pile. I recognized them as the rocks of doubt and the rocks of faith. The rocks of faith have finally tipped the scale, and I'm so grateful for that.
Alma 32:27 says, "But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words."
I have the desire to have faith and be an active member of this church. While the rocks of doubts are still on my scale, the rocks of faith outweigh them, which is such a wonderful thing.

For five years I sat in an office every Sunday while people came in to confess the worst things they'd done. I was barely 30.
I served as a bishop in my church, leading a congregation of about 500 people. Part of that role is what we call being a common judge, which is where the confessions came in.
Early on I would leave the lights off, lock the door, and kneel in the dark, praying. How could I possibly judge these people, with so many of them being more than twice my age?
Then one morning I caught sight of a picture of Christ on the wall, and it occurred to me that he would not have been judging any of them. He would have just listened, and pointed them toward healing.
So I flipped the lights on and changed my title. Instead of judge, I decided I was a repentance coach. I had never heard another bishop call himself that, but it felt right.
What I saw over those five years changed how I see people permanently. A wealthy businessman and a struggling single mother would come in on the same afternoon carrying roughly the same wound.
It shocked me how many quiet crises people carry. Unimaginable amounts of guilt, regret, and sorrow.
I would come home in emotional shock, and my wife would hold me while I tried to process it all.
But I’m grateful for that soul-stretching experience. It taught me about how important compassion is, and why we shouldn’t make assumptions.
Whoever you’re mad or annoyed at today - cut them a break. They likely need it worse than you know.

Okay LDS members… here’s the thing…
If you’re active.
If you’re less active.
If you never miss a Sunday.
If you haven’t been to church in years.
If you swear sometimes.
If you don’t.
If you always wear your garments.
If you don’t always wear them.
If you trust the Brethren 100%.
If you question some of their decisions.
If you’ve never doubted your testimony.
If you’ve wrestled with it for years.
If you read your scriptures every day.
If you’re trying to remember where you put them.
If you have a temple recommend.
If you don’t right now.
If your prayers feel like direct communication with God.
If you feel like they’re not making it past the ceiling.
If you feel completely at home in Church culture.
If you’ve always felt a little out of place.
If you know exactly what you believe.
If you’re still figuring some of it out.
If your faith feels unshakable.
If some days all you have is a sliver of hope…
I’m glad you’re here.
I’m glad you’re trying.
There’s a place for you.
Jesus Christ loves you!
Found this purple sand dollar at the beach today. Second one this month. I love ocean treasures!
