It's #TestTuesday today. As students head back to school and new routines develop, make fire safety part of yours. Test you smoke alarms monthly to ensure they are working properly. Review and update your home fire escape plan if needed.

We’re hearing reports of visible wildfire smoke in several areas of BC.
And we’re expecting increased smoke in the Lakes District and Cariboo regions.
Remember to monitor smoky conditions and take the proper precautions.

Rick Doman: industry titan with 40+ years of #BCForestry experience. Someone who knows how to drive the sector.
With Trump’s economic attacks, we must expand our markets. Rick is the guy who knows how to do just that.
Welcome the new Chair of the Forest Innovation Investment.
News today that 5 Canadian national team hockey players were found "not guilty" legally is disappointing. Make no mistake, what happened was still very, very wrong. They were not innocent. They were in a position of power & influence and abused that. As men, we must learn.

Thinking of everyone in Manitoba facing the threat of wildfires.
My team is working to support the @MBGov, and we will be deploying additional crews and resources from @BCGovFireInfo to support their response and protect communities.
We’ve got your back.

🚨 Manitoba has declared a Provincial State of Emergency due to rapidly spreading wildfires.
Evacuation orders are in place in parts of northern and eastern Manitoba.

Both crews are deployed to The Pas area. Yesterday, May 12, was their first day on the fireline. At this time, B.C. has not received further requests to support Manitoba; however, conversations with CIFFC are ongoing.

People who use drugs are not what is driving issues of public safety in B.C.; organized crime is profiting off the hardship of people facing addictions. To continually blame PWUD is misleading & harmful to finding overall solutions to the issue. Harm reduction saves lives.

As we've posted on this platform many times, Poilievre's treatment of journalists and his inability to answer their questions makes it impossible to vote PC in this federal election.
Scary report from Justin Ling for @TorontoStar on Tories’ aggressive control of media coverage of their campaign: how many questions, who asks them, on what. This is exactly what Trump does in the US. Defunding CBC is part of this too. #cdnpoli thestar.com/opinion/contribu…

This.
Thousands of the best experts at FDA, NIH, and all across HHS are being terminated right now.
These are the people who make sure the medications you and your children take are safe.
These are the people who perform and oversee research on cancer, infant health, and so so so much more.
These are the people who make sure new devices that physicians and patients use are effective.
These are the people who keep workers safe on the job and help prevent devastating injuries for workers all around the country.
These are the people who track what drugs and medications are experiencing shortages so we can adapt.
These are the people who help tackle HIV and other infectious diseases, asthma, lead poisoning, and everything else that makes many Americans sick.
And now, thousands of them are gone.
There is no way this makes Americans healthier.
We will regret this.

The Earthquake Early Warning system can provide seconds to tens-of-seconds of warning by detecting an earthquake immediately after it occurs ✔️
The system is for potentially harmful earthquakes. EQs with low levels of shaking will not produce alerts ❌
