We are working with our partners to bring this incident to a safe conclusion. Please avoid the area while we deal with the fire.
We are aware of an incident currently taking place at WCH. There is a fire in the portakabins adjacent to the development site. The fire service are in attendance.
The fire is away from the main hospital buildings and there is no risk to patients.

A small fire in the open can rapidly spread and quickly become a large incident.
If you spot a fire - even a small one, get yourself to safety and call 999.
🚭 Dispose cigarette ends responsibly.
🔥 Don't BBQ or light fires in rural areas.
🗑️ Take your rubbish home.

Young people in Cumbria can find out what’s involved in being a firefighter this summer! Lots of realistic simulations. They get fed during the day too which could make a big difference to some families at the moment. Hear more with @ValTheVoice shortly. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:b…
