There seems to be a lot of anti-Newcastle sentiment on here today. Understandable. But this notion that #Nufc are some kind of yo-yo team with no history? Worth a reminder that before Mike Ashley, Newcastle had been relegated fewer times than Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes looks like he’s started off as a false 9 for Manchester United today at Leeds. #mufc

7 games in ( 20 % of the season) it’s too soon to make knee jerk reactions but you could argue Newcastle have been second best in all 7 games. Of course the new manager needs to be given time to work with his new players but the current trajectory is very concerning for #nufc

This feels concerning for Newcastle. Conceding 8 goals at Coventry and Leeds should tell you they are too open and easy to play against. It was similar against Bournemouth and the 2nd half v Hull. Drop one of Pardo and Wissa and play an extra midfielder? #nufc

Really like Wissa as a centre forward but not as a 10. The gap between the defensive midfielders and him always feels too big which gives the opposition too much space to play through Newcastle. #nufc

Baffled by the decision to bring Gordon off. Shades of Argentina in the semi final. Now England are chasing the game without, arguably, their best attacking threat.

How are England leading here?! Spain should have 3 or 4 goals. The England centre backs and central midfield have looked miles off it. Yamal has made O’Reilly look silly, MLS looks out of his depth. Yet 2 quick counters and England are in front. Funny old game!

De Zerbi was backed massively in the market at Marseille. He left behind a club in free-fall & on brink of financial ruin. Today, after a summer of austerity, Marseille are 15th and on a run of 4 straight losses. De Zerbi may be a genius, but is he a good football manager?

If Pardo wants to be a number 9, he needs to get into the 6 yard box. There were multiple nice balls played across goal today and no one getting on the end of them #nufc

Can’t underestimate the importance of picking up 3 points for #nufc going into the international break. That should give a young team confidence but the way they lost control of that game in the second half was concerning. They seemed to lose their shape after Steur went off.
