🚨Listen up, Cheeseheads. Kwik Trip isn’t just a gas station. It’s a lifestyle.
It’s where you go for a hot, fresh Glazer donut at 2 a.m. that somehow tastes better than anything baked in Paris. It’s the sacred temple of the spicy chicken fillet sandwich, the fountain of free air for your tires (bless you, KT), and the only place where “I’ll just run in for coffee” turns into a $47 shopping spree featuring cheese-filled breadsticks, jerky, and enough Fast Play lottery tickets to fund the town of Yuba. Kwik Trip is all things Wisconsin.
So why in the name of Vince Lombardi is the largest Kwik Trip in the country sitting in Byron, Minnesota? 16,843 square feet of Minnesota betrayal, open 24/7, probably staffed by people who say “pop” unironically.
Second place? South Beloit, Illinois: 15,494 square feet of pure Illinois audacity, lurking right on the state line like a tollbooth for our dignity.
This is an outrage. A scandal. A crime against humanity.
The third largest is right where it belongs: Kenosha, Wisconsin, cozying up next to Mars Cheese Castle like a true patriot. This store is already a beast. It needs to become THE beast.
I’m calling on Kwik Trip corporate in La Crosse to slap an addition on that Kenosha location immediately. Make it 20,000 square feet of pure Wisconsin supremacy. We will accept nothing less.
While you’re at it, let’s make this expansion the greatest roadside spectacle since the Mars Cheese Castle expansion. We’re talking:
An American flag so massive it makes Sheboygan’s Acuity Insurance flag look like a napkin. The thing should be visible from orbit. Astronauts will salute it.
A giant Rhinelander Hodag statue out front, complete with glowing red eyes for maximum photo ops and “only in Wisconsin” tourism dollars.
A free Case tractor shuttle service running back and forth to Mars Cheese Castle. Why walk when you can ride in agricultural glory?
Wisconsin-specific amenities galore: a beer cheese fountain, a live polka band on weekends, and maybe a small museum dedicated to the invention of the cheese curd and the Kringle.
And yes, we should absolutely charge Illinois visitors a “Border Tax.” Call it the “You Chose to Live There” surcharge. Five bucks extra for their coffee. They’ll still come. Illinoisans can smell cheaper gas from fifty miles away.
This isn’t just about size, folks. This is about sending a message. Buc-ee’s is invading. They’re building their first Wisconsin location in Oak Creek, and those Texas behemoths are no joke. They’ve got the clean bathrooms, the beaver mascots, and the aggressive enthusiasm of a cult. We cannot let them win. The only acceptable response is a Kenosha Kwik Trip so legendary that Buc-ee’s employees will defect for better donuts and free tire air.
Picture the grand opening: fireworks over I-94, the UW marching band playing the Wisconsin fight song and Jump Around while Bucky Badger does gymnastics, and a special appearance by Brett Favre showing up in Wranglers, throwing a football full of coupons into the crowd. (“I’ll come out of retirement a fourth time for this!”)
Kwik Trip, you built an empire on our loyalty. Don’t let Minnesota and Illinois steal the throne. Expand that Kenosha store, plant the Hodag, fly the gargantuan flag, and give us the biggest, baddest, most Wisconsin Kwik Trip on Earth. See you next time! (Please sign the petition below).
