Super excited about what Leon is building with Ivy! It's been a game changer for our firm - a measurable 50% increase in team productivity. Leon is layering in the missing pieces of the AI stack for investment firms - request a demo at ivy.one/ or dm me.
Today we're launching Ivy, the AI operator for family offices and investment firms. She holds the firm's memory, works like a team member, and gets things done before you ask. See her live → ivy.one/

Great, so founders would have 10 years to speedrun their way to a giant pile or cash and forced to surrender their company to the government if they can't do it fast enough. This is the worst idea you have proposed. By far. The behavioral incentives are so obviously horrible.

One of the most underappreciated forces behind the deep tech wave are the venture LP allocators. Few years ago, most venture LPs viewed deep tech as too capital intensive, too slow, too risky, too hard to underwrite, etc. The early allocators who leaned in are now seeing meaningful markups and exits emerging from those bets. Success changed perception and perception started to change capital flows. Today, many LPs are approaching deep tech very differently than they were just a few years ago. It’s one of the biggest shifts in venture that almost nobody talks about.

Venture studios are quietly becoming one of the most effective models for company creation, but most people still don't understand what happens inside one. For this podcast episode I sat down with @AndyBilinsky, Partner at Interplay leading our Studio, to break down exactly how we build companies from the ground up. During our conversation, we covered: - What a venture studio actually is and how it differs from traditional VC - Why we research industries deeply before ever writing a business plan - The role of operating partners as true co-founders - Why second- and third-time founders are choosing to build with a studio instead of going solo - How Interplay went from 3 new companies in Q4 2025 to targeting 10+ in 2026 Big thanks to Andy for pulling back the curtain on how we build. Grateful to have him here at Interplay.

If you focus too much on Karen Bass you miss the 4 socialists on the city council. You miss imbeciles on the County Board of Supervisors like Lindsay Horvath. You miss the destruction wrought by George Gascon while he was in office. Diagnose the problem correctly people.

What does it take to build a supply chain that’s truly ethical, not just greenwashed? In this week’s episode, I sit down with Ryan Ansin to explore how intentionality can be woven into every link of the product lifecycle: - Think beyond profit to purpose - Question where your materials really come from - Demand transparency in labor practices - Balance innovation with impact We also zoom out to talk about how to raise conscious leaders and resilient kids. Ryan’s take? Teach failure early, reward curiosity, and build grit through experience. Special thanks to Ryan for joining me on the pod.

Voice AI is having a moment - where do we go from here? We’re seeing a surge of AI startups building voice-first products—and for good reason. Voice agents are now reaching (and in some cases, surpassing) call center-level performance, with faster, more natural, and more human-like interactions. But with the market getting crowded, the big questions for investors and founders are: - Which wedge products will win? - Which teams can build lasting, venture-scale businesses? - Where is the real long-term opportunity? We dove into 45+ venture-backed companies in the voice AI space to unpack the trends, team profiles, and product strategies that are shaping the future of this category. If you're building a voice AI startup, we’d love to connect and hear what you’re working on. Excited to share a big life update — I’ve joined @interplay as a Partner to lead our Studio, where we build companies from scratch. Couldn't be more pumped for this next chapter! 🚀
Big news from the Interplay team: @andybilinsky has joined us as a Partner to lead our Studio. Formerly referred to as our Foundry, our Studio is the division of Interplay that builds new companies from scratch. We come up with ideas internally, diligence them hard and when we can’t kill them… we build them. We partner with outstanding CEOs to cofound these new ventures. With 12 ventures achieving product-market fit, roughly 1,000 jobs created, and 5 exits, it's been an incredible ride so far. Andy brings deep operational chops, having built and sold two companies, and a sharp focus on sales and marketing that will be a major asset to our founding teams. If you want to start a new venture and work on a vetted idea with us as a partner, drop Andy a line. Get the full story on Andy and our Studio here: interplay.vc/blog/new-studio…

In final diligence stages and I reached out to two named advisors the founder said have been 'instrumental' in shaping the company. Both advisors said they met the founder once six months ago and haven't talked since. Many investors would miss this and only find out later how dishonest this person really is.

A piece I wrote for @spectator on the Los Angeles fires and the political reaction/revelations. No, politicians cannot prevent every natural disaster, but local residents did not get the support from local govt. they reasonably came to expect. thespectator.com/topic/angel…
