Andrews Memorial

What with a bit of this & that last Friday, we didn’t get around to sending our best wishes to our wonderful AMPS community for a happy, healthy & relaxing summer. Stay safe & enjoy!

So, it’s goodbye from him, from him, from him & from him. Thanks for the memories, AMPS, you’ve been amazing for me & my family. 15 years as Principal, 21 school years for my 3 sons. That’s a legacy right there! Wishing you all an exciting, bright & fulfilling future, with love.

The shutter is coming down very soon, time for tea!

Followed by Huckleberry’s ice cream….with sprinkles……and a flake! Too much? Not according to P7!

Q. What is the definition of decadence? A. Fish and Chips in the middle of the day!

Good morning, everyone. Mr Magee’s time at the gate is nearly up. Look what he found this morning (the children were expected). You’re welcome!

In all our glory!

Wee bit of a late one this evening, but P6 Harry Potter Day should never go unrecognised!

Good morning, everyone. Today sees us host our P1-3 End of Year Service this morning & our P7 Leavers’ Service this evening. Time to celebrate, reflect & hope. Wishing all contributors & visitors a happy & memorable day.

Our P3s set off to sort out Stormont today. It was too hard, so they spent the day learning about nature & having fun. A very successful adventure had by all!

Great morning’s Tag Rugby @RegentHouseSch - thanks to all players, coaches, referees & parents. Special mention for the rain - thanks for not joining in!

And now all 4 forces of flight in action with Ring Wing Gliders!

Wait for it……..wait for it! P7 producing CO2 under pressure to result in the force of thrust! @RoySocChem

More from the zoo… Who fancies that more??

Some more sunny news ‘from the north’… P2s have had a great day at the zoo!

Still outdoors, P6 working out a method to move a ball across the playground - without touching the ground. All their own ideas - real creativity in action!

Some outdoor news from P3 first today… Ards and North Down Borough Council came to talk to us about plants, flowers & how to look after our local parks. Special thanks to Ryan from ANDBC for also gifting the school with a water butt, hose, sprinkler and plants.

And… Please, everyone, think about yourselves & your thoughts. Blow the negatives away. Live & breathe the moment!

And some more…

In AMPS, mindfulness is an everyday priority; our commitment to PERMA gives us space for wellbeing in the fullest sense. In P4 today, here are some of the children’s thoughts about themselves.
