Meet the newest animal from the Burgess Shale, Gyaltsenglossus senis, just published in @CurrentBiology, as part of my @NMNH postdoc. This half-a-billion year old fossil is a hemichordate, a group comprised of the enteropneusts and pterobranchs. tinyurl.com/y3yawyje

This #FossilFriday, instead of posting fossil or selfie, share a fossil described by a Black scientist, promote Black paleo work, or talk about a historical Black paleontologist. If you’re having trouble or if we are sharing about the same people, think about that. #BlackInPaleo

A bit surreal to be talking about dinosaurs with so much going on in the world, but we do have exciting research to share. Based on the stomach contents of #Borealopelta, we are able to reconstruct the diet of this 110 Million year old armoured dinosaur royalsocietypublishing.org/d…

To academics who are silent right now.. your future students are watching and wondering if you are too uncomfortable to post or RT anything now, will you be too ‘uncomfortable’ to stand up for them. I know it’s awkward. I know because I lived it. #BlackLivesMatter

I'm a young black paleontologist, geologist, and Paleo/Geo educator in Gwinnett County, Georgia. I enjoy watching modern day dinosaurs. I enjoy unlocking the secrets that are hidden in the rocks around us and sharing the history of 4 billion years. #BlackInNature #BlackAFinSTEM

#FossilFriday: This section showed palaeontologists that ichthyosaur teeth were suspended in sockets by special ligaments. Even though the ligament is gone, the scarring along the surface of the tooth tells us where it attached. You know who else does this? MAMMALS!

1/n So for those who missed my @morethanadodo talk on fossil worms, I though I'd post some of the greatest hits from the annelid fossil record for #FossilFriday and some of the species featured in my talk. First up a load of soft bodied annelids: #FossilFriday
