Taking all morning to remember our wonderful 9/11 heroes and the sacrifices they made for our country on this day 25 years ago. In this difficult to understand next chapter the prophet Isaiah seems to speak from the viewpoint of those attacking Israel, because they hate it, angry enemies and terrorists. He seems to suggest that all of this is caused by God in order for them to endure it and be saved my it. And, that they are redeemed by a silver lining, of kindness and compassion of those helping them, Him, us to recover from all this, that also comes along with this terror. That His Holy Spirit is a two-fold blessing of harm along with help and that they must accept both parts of it in order to be healed. “Who is this that comes from Edom, with crimson stained garments from Bozrah? ..Why is it that your apparel are spread with Red, and your garments like the one who treads in the winepress?...For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and my year of redemption has come.. And I looked and their was no one to help..So my own arm brought me victory..and my wrath upheld me..I trod down the people in my wrath and made them drink of the cup of my wrath, until they were intoxicated and spilled their lifeblood upon the earth. I will recount the lovingkindness of the Lord and praise the deeds of the Lord, according to all he has bestowed upon me. and the great goodness to the house of Israel.. For he said, surely they are my people, sons that will not lie or deal falsely with me. for He was to them like a Saviour for all their distresses. In chapter 62 the prophet Isaiah talks about, foresees how Zion, the Holy city, will be called married, “Beulah” to him. Reminds me of my great grandfather’s famous coronation hymn, “We will say good morning in glory”.. when darkness shall turn to day, the night is fast passing, Zion... Judah, we’ve sighted the mountains of Beulah [married to the Lord YHWH} land... “For Zion’s sake, I(Isaiah) will hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness shines, goes forth in brightness, and her vindication radiates as does a burning torch...
