I’ve only gone and written a book! ‘To Stand and Stare; how to garden while doing next to nothing” is a celebration of what it means to garden with nature as a partner, rather than as force apart from us that needs to be contained, controlled and limited.

Lots of people asking me where I was when Sunak announced the election. I was inside, because it was raining. Only an idiot would have gone out in that... #GeneralElection

Your reminder...
In 2021 Sunak cut the money given to the Environment Agency to maintain existing flood protection schemes
Reduced it by £34m to £201m

Well f*** me.
The “what you must sow in January” posts are already starting.
So let me just say, after 30 years in the business of growing plants of all types, there is NOTHING you need to sow in January.
Respect the seeds and wait.
First sowing date here will be mid Feb
Bugger. I always seem to have to exhaust all probabilities when I'm only after one letter!

Our conversation about immigration is all about numbers, not about rights.
That’s why the government now feels able to trash our family rights to give us the numbers we supposedly want.
Migrants are humans. Humans have families. Our immigration system has to cope with that.

2) In 2022 I started a petition to ban high risk garden pesticides. petition.parliament.uk/petit… I thought, let’s follow official democratic process to spark sensible discussion.
I’d change the wording slightly now but anyone reading it would get the gist for wider conversation.
