I think we’ve gone too far with the use of the word slop. Just the latest in an overused word this site has latched onto. Something I’m watching.
You can see Ament’s raw talent in flashes, but he’s not strong enough and doesn’t have a go to move or two when it matters. Whether he can develop those things over the course of the season matters a lot to this Tennessee team’s ultimate success.
Watching the Vitello-led Vols provided me with some of the best moments I’ve had as a Vol fan. Him leaving this way really is the best we could hope for. Not leaving for another power college opportunity, rather for a dream gig in the pros. Happy for him and we keep rolling.
It feels like there’s a situation like this in the sports world every day that everyone on the outside can see coming from miles away while nobody on the inside with actual decision power has a clue. It’s insane.
From @TheAthletic: Bill Belichick pledged an NFL approach at UNC. But it has proven to be a disaster. Insiders at the university described a culture of arrogance and a lack of understanding of how college football works. nyti.ms/4ocnpN7
Grizzlies fans will love Mashack from a grit and grind perspective. He was a top five defensive player in the country in college. Truly a lockdown guy. Offense is brutal, so not sure how that fits in at the next level, but if they can make him passable on that end he could be 👍
Sometimes I expect Arteta quotes to be parodies, and they never are. The man is exhausting. More excuses than my four year old when he’s caught getting out of bed for the 17th time in the same night.
My favorite is people in the comments saying Tennessee hasn’t played anybody and that Memphis has played a much tougher schedule as if the direct comparison is relevant. Also as if Memphis didn’t get dog walked at home against a really bad Arkansas State team in the last week.
