PRIMITIVE TRIBALIST Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that Charity Ngilu has counseled him to pursue 2002 NAK strategy. In 2002 Kibaki, Wamalwa and Ngilu formed NAK, which was limping worse than the current chaotic opposition. The then struggling opposition received a boost from LDP, led by Raila Odinga, who took charge of the campaign and transformed the limping NAK into NARC. The Kikuyu in that election divided the vote between Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta. Gachagua himself was supporting Uhuru Kenyatta and added no value to Kibaki’s victory. He only embraced Kibaki’s victory because Kibaki was a fellow Kikuyu. The LDP Party defeated Wamalwa decisively in Western, but Raila chose to let him keep the Vice Presidency. In that NARC coalition, LDP had the highest number of elected MPs. The treatment of the Luo, and by extension, the Kamba, after that election is something they don’t talk about. Yet, it is the reason any invitation of the Luo to that alliance remains empty and continually rejected. Even if Gachagua, Sifuna/Bukusu and Kalonzo/Ngilu join hands, they will only have formed NAK. That thing which was limping in 2002 and headed nowhere. They lack one ingredient they’ve been trying to bag for months — THE LUO ALLIANCE — now known as ‘ODM’, to help them turn NAK into NARC. Without the Luo Alliance the OATH-TAKERS are headed nowhere. And the Luo are demanding that the oathtakers come clean on the limitations placed on them by the 1969 anti-Luo OATH. Until they DE-OATH, there will be no alliance with the oathtakers. We are patient. We are willing to bid time. We know who is in a hurry. WE HOLD THE TRUMP CARD.
