I’m very grateful to the Members of the Security Council for the expressions of support for the work of UNSMIL and for their call on key political stakeholders to work with us to implement the key tasks of the roadmap, and also for their support to the structured dialogue process we launched last week.
Briefing the Security Council, @HannaTetteh said the Structured Dialogue launched this week by @unsmilibya will proceed in parallel with other tracks of the political roadmap, providing an opportunity to advance the conditions needed for holding elections.

However, it remains unlikely that meaningful progress to amend the electoral laws will be made in the immediate term. Indeed, it seems likely that the Libyan status quo actors will continue to delay and obfuscate the process as they have done before.
