REMINDER: New Bitcoin Hardfork **Oct 31** !
- After two successful test networks (Aug 23, Sept 20), the real network is ready to go.
- Full node software available NOW.
- Pre-trading (via a wrapped token) is LIVE.
Details below...
BREAKING: New Bitcoin Fork
I am helping create a **new Bitcoin Hardfork** -- dropping this August, called "eCash".
- Your coins will split. For example, if you have 4.19 BTC, then you will get 4.19 eCash.
- You may sell your eCash -- or keep it. Or ignore it!
Vegas:
- Yes, I will be in Vegas next week.
- No, I won't mention this, on stage -- (that would be rude).
Our L1 Node...
- is a near-copy of Bitcoin Core.
- is Sha256d mined.
- forks via a one-time difficulty-reset -- to its minimum value. (So, mining will be crazy at first.)
- Yes, we will change the seed nodes, the name, the network magic, etc.
Codewise, the L1 will remain compatible with Bitcoin Core:
- We will continue to merge their changes (even the bad ones).
- The L1 will activate Bip300/301 via CUSF -- the core untouched soft fork. So, no lines of code will be changed, on the L1.
- The activation client will be published periodically (link below).
- We will do several bug bounty contests this summer.
- The client will be frozen 30 days prior to the fork.
Yes, there will be Drivechains:
- We have 7 in developement right now.
- Users can also submit their own.
- Drivechain is a vision of "competing L2s" -- this avoids the "dev capture" problem.
- These L2s are all Merged Mined. Miners automatically get free $.
- Our L2s are already capable of planetary scale, and onboarding 8 billion users.
- We also have a zCash-like L2, with strong privacy.
- Other L2s: Truthcoin (Prediction Markets), CoinShift (Decentralized Exchange), BitAssets (NFT etc), BitNames (Identity), Photon (Quantum Resistant).
Unlike BCH (the 2017 fork):
- There is no "Bitcoin" in the name. New name, new brand.
- You are getting advanced warning (4 months).
- We are replaying all txns (at first). We will release a coin-splitter tool.
- This is a permanent & sustainable fix to Bitcoin's problems (instead of a 1 MB to 8 MB temporary fix).
- Back in 2017, the BTC tech stack was strong, and expectations for Lightning were strong. Today, it is the reverse.
Video to follow.

Pirate Chain Ironwood is live!
The trustless setup strengthens our foundation for the future.
Always private with zero-knowledge is ARRR standard.

Privacy used to cost you time, with slow syncs and clunky wallets. Rafael sat down with Amy V and Daniel from #PirateChain to talk about what makes money truly private, how it compares to #Monero, and #Stashi, their new unified wallet. Stashi runs over Tor by default, and the team's early testing shows its Supernova sync running 20 to 30 times faster than the old lite wallet. We also cover the upcoming Ironwood upgrade and what real-world adoption looks like at a local farmers market.

** UPDATE ** -- The ECX hardfork (the Bip-300 one) is still launching August 23rd -- but it is NOT launching all at once.
Instead, it launches in three stages:
1. Alpha - August 23rd - Block 963648
2. Beta - Sept 20th - Block 967680
3. ** Full Permanent Release ** -- Oct 31st -- Block 973,728
The Alpha and Beta launches will (ideally) resemble the full launch, in every way possible.
If you acquire "practice" ECX, on the alpha and beta, you may burn these coins, to redeem for real (Oct 31) ECX. Details to follow.
This rollout has a number of big advantages, including:
1. Allows us to wait out the current "LLM bug chaos".
2. Still rewards people for being early participants.
3. Still rewards people for using replay to drain exchanges of ECX — (it now gives them a light whack instead of a huge crisis).
4. Allows investors to *compound* their initial earned coins, by using them to get yet more coins.
5. Gives us *cover* if there is some kind of big problem or disaster.
6. Allows us to better estimate the initial equilibrium USD/ECX price ... & therefore the difficulty.
7. Gives people something to trade, Pump, speculate, practice on, etc.
8. Serves as "the ultimate FAQ", since instead of asking "does X work with Y" there is a real live demo we can point people to.
Note: The full release will take place, approximately, on the 18th anniversary of the publication of Satoshi's Bitcoin Whitepaper. 🎃👻
Note: This fork has **opt-in** replay protection. Our software **will** add RP for you (and it will warn you about it). However, if you ignore us, we will replay your txns. So - you must intentionally split your ECX off, or it will follow your outgoing BTC to a new owner. See resources below.
You have 12 weeks to practice! (Don't say I didn't warn you!!)

August 2026 might be the most consequential month in Bitcoin's history.
Three competing visions for what Bitcoin becomes next:
BIP300/301
BIP110
Bitcoin Core as-is
Whether you support them or oppose them, understanding them matters.
Bitcoin has always evolved through competition.
The next chapter will be written by builders, not headlines.

We said Orchard. We're shipping Ironwood instead
#PirateChain $ARRR is skipping the Orchard shielded pool entirely, moving straight to Ironwood, a newer protocol built with formal verification and quantum-recoverability commitments, positioning ARRR's privacy guarantees against tomorrow's cybersecurity threats.
The upgrade lands alongside a planned #dPoW update, combined into one coordinated hardfork. Development is underway, with an activation date to follow as testing concludes.
The result: one of the only fully trustless, formally verified shielded pools in the entire #privacycoin sector.

An AI model just found a soundness bug in Zcash's Orchard pool that sat hidden since 2022, meaning anyone could have minted unlimited counterfeit Zcash out of thin air. Worse, because it's a shielded pool, nobody can prove it didn't happen. While #Zcash holders were sweating, Pirate Chain users didn't lose a second of sleep. Zero panic. Pirate runs on Sapling, not Orchard, so it was never affected. Zero percent chance.
This is why private by default wins. Zcash plays testnet, takes the risks, and finds the holes the hard way. Pirate watches, waits, audits the tech itself, and only ships it once it's proven safe. We sat down with a #PirateChain dev to break down what happened, why formal verification matters, and why optional privacy is no privacy at all.

Breaking: @LayerTwoLabs + eCash .com have raised $5 million, to [1] further our mission of "Making every transaction a Bitcoin txn", and [2] launch a new BTC-fork this August.
We must rescue Bitcoin from its crisis of complacency and derangement.
Our ideas are cutting-edge -- so they are often misunderstood.
But actually -- they are quite popular (especially among OG Bitcoiners). You can look at: our podcast interviews, the Wednesday X spaces, the endorsements on the site -- real people love us. The only haters are bot farms -- and sheep who are easily misled.
Unfortunately, Bitcoin is going through an era of great ignorance and cowardice (see "Derangements" below).
That is why it is so important to fight back!

Pirate Chain (ARRR) Unaffected by Zcash Orchard Vulnerability
A recently disclosed issue in Zcash’s Orchard shielded pool could have allowed the creation of counterfeit ZEC. The bug has existed since 2022 and was fixed by Zcash on June 3, 2026 in an emergency hard fork. Pirate Chain (ARRR) is NOT affected. Pirate Chain (ARRR) is built on the Sapling shielded protocol and remains unaffected by the Zcash Orchard vulnerability. No ARRR funds are at risk.
Pirate Chain's Orchard integration is underway and will uptake Zcash's Orchard bug fix, which will be extensively tested before deployment. Read more on the Pirate Chain blog.
The privacy, security, and integrity of the Pirate Chain network and its users' funds remain our highest priority.
Stay safe. Stay shielded.
