When Charlotte had her brain biopsy in October 2015, the damage caused by the procedure was immeasurable. By late November, Charlotte's balance had deteriorated significantly. She needed these walking poles to help her stay steady and regain some confidence when walking. I won't be taking them on our walk to help with my balance, but simply to take a little pressure off my mildly arthritic knee. There is something deeply comforting in knowing that Charlotte and I have shared these walking poles. Every time I hold them, I think of her courage, her determination and the journey we travelled together. They are a reminder that, although she is no longer beside me, she is always with me in my heart. We are now just £41 away from reaching £1,200. If anyone felt able to make a donation, Miles and I would be so grateful. Reaching £1200 would mean we had raised the equivalent of £6 for every mile we are walking, something that will certainly spur us on especially over the final stretch in 12 days!
