A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children.
I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz warned against complacency over the dangers posed by Russia, saying in an exclusive Bloomberg interview that Vladimir Putin wants more than Ukraine: Evening Briefing Americas bloomberg.com/news/newslette…

The weaponization of the FBI to serve Trump’s revenge fantasies means the bureau is not doing all it can to fight crime and defend the US from foreign adversaries and terrorists.
60 Minutes obtained an internal FBI email temporarily reassigning 260 analysts to work on a “priority investigation” into the 2020 ballots seized from a Fulton County, Georgia, election facility in January. That was three months ago, and nothing has come of it yet. cbsn.ws/4z7X20A

Humiliating and dangerous: Trump has now finally just made America an ally of the Kremlin and is aiding Putin in his war against an American friend and partner. Shameful betrayal of a US friend, and pathetic submission to a US enemy.

Imagine if in 1943 FDR had decided that the US would stop helping Britain and instead would side with the Third Reich. That's a bit like what President Trump is now doing by cozying up to Russia as it tries to destroy Ukraine. Utterly shameful. A humiliating moment for the US.

Meta employees admitted the US corporation censored the Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp accounts of Brazil's left-wing President Lula da Silva in the lead-up to this month's election.
Meta also promoted the accounts of far-right pro-US candidate Flávio Bolsonaro.
Meta claimed this was supposedly because of "technical issues".
But what this really shows is how real democracy is impossible when US Big Tech corporations are used to manipulate elections around the world, to put in power right-wing US puppets who will sell out their country to US corporations and the US government (see: the recent US electoral interference in Colombia, Honduras, Peru, Argentina, etc.)
The CIA previously focused on organizing military coups to overthrow independent left-wing leaders and install right-wing pro-imperialist ones. Now it's much easier: Silicon Valley helps the US empire carry out soft coups by manipulating public opinion and interfering in elections.

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone."
He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory."
"They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this."
He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

🦔A security researcher found that Eiliko, a roughly $60 AI companion robot sold on Amazon by Energize Lab, left millions of kids’ conversations open on cloud servers linked to China. The exposed records reportedly included transcripts, audio, photos and auto-built profiles with names, ages, birthdays and family members. He also took over a reporter’s robot remotely and made it say things it was never programmed to say. Energize Lab’s privacy policy said recordings were encrypted and deleted right after processing, and the company hasn’t responded.
My Take
This is the second “trust us” promise I’ve written about this week. Amazon says no one can access what its Bee recorders hear, and this toy company said kids’ recordings got deleted right away, until a researcher found them on servers anyone could open. If his findings hold up, Energize Lab chose to build profiles of children and then left them basically unlocked. Encrypting stored data is a standard setting on every major cloud service, so the too-hard-or-too-expensive excuse doesn’t work for me.
I’d keep any toy that talks back and remembers what it hears away from kids for now. The FTC already made Amazon pay $25 million in 2023 for holding on to kids’ Alexa recordings, so the law covers this, and a complaint here seems likely. Collecting a fine from a company that keeps its data on Chinese servers is another story.

This is what Voter Suppression looks like in 2026.
GOP-controlled election boards in North Carolina declined to put an early-voting site back on the campus of North Carolina A&T after students had one in 2024.
So these patriots marched nearly an hour in the heat to reach the polls on the first day of early voting. And they voted.
Make it harder and we’ll still show up.
