Students from RISD junior highs and several elementary campuses came together for a special Richardson Reads One Book experience with award-winning author @KateMessner!
Messner took students behind the scenes of her writing, sharing the research, adventures and real people who inspired her stories.
She talked about her multimodal story, The Trouble with Heroes, and the eight-year journey and 46 mountains she climbed as she brought the story to life. Each student even received a personal copy, a cookie made from a recipe in the book, and even got a sneak peek into her upcoming novel!
What a great reminder that stories can take us anywhere and come from anywhere. 📚✨ @LIBRARIESinRISD
