Ethereum Classic: The Unstoppable Original Where Code Is Still Law
The Original Unstoppable Layer 1
Ethereum Classic is a Layer 1 blockchain that carries the original Ethereum vision forward.
Launched in 2015 and preserved after the 2016 DAO fork, it is the only mature Proof-of-Work chain with native smart contracts.
Its core narrative is simple and uncompromising: immutability, censorship resistance, and “Code is Law.”
The Problem of Mutable Ledgers and the Classic Fix
Most networks can rewrite history when enough pressure is applied. Ethereum itself reversed the DAO hack. Ethereum Classic refused. By keeping the original chain intact, it solved the fundamental trust problem of programmable money: once code is deployed, it executes exactly as written - forever.
No foundations, no social overrides, no transaction reversals.
Standing Alone Among Giants
Bitcoin delivers sound money but lacks smart contracts. Ethereum offers the EVM but abandoned Proof-of-Work and immutability. Faster Layer 1s trade neutrality for throughput. ETC uniquely fuses Bitcoin’s monetary philosophy with Ethereum’s programmable power.
It remains the only major PoW EVM continuously secured by real-world energy and dedicated miners since genesis.
Recent Momentum and Quiet Infrastructure Wins
Network activity is rising. Daily transactions have climbed well above summer lows, with weekdays regularly topping 11,000. Hashrate holds steady in the 150–180 TH/s range.
Community infrastructure efforts have delivered public geo-routed RPCs, multi-client node networks, and full-chain data available in Google BigQuery. The latest Fifthening cut the block reward by 20%, further tightening new supply under the fixed schedule.
Olympia and the Path Ahead
The flagship Olympia upgrade is targeted for mainnet activation in 2027. It brings modern EVM parity, an EIP-1559-style fee market, and a protocol-native treasury funded by base fees, without touching miner rewards or the supply cap.
The result is sustainable on-chain funding for clients and public goods while preserving the core monetary policy.
ETC Tokenomics and Market Snapshot
ethereum-classic:native is the native gas token and the sole mining reward. There is no pre-mine; every new coin goes to miners.
The 5M20 policy reduces the block reward 20% every five million blocks, with a maximum supply near 210.7 million. Circulating supply is roughly 158.8 million.
As of mid-October 2026, ETC trades near $7.70 with a market capitalization of approximately $1.23 billion.
The Immutable Advantage
In an era of soft forks and governance capture, ETC’s unbroken record since 2015 is its sharpest edge. It is the longest-running Proof-of-Work smart contract platform, offering a credible neutral settlement layer for applications that truly cannot be stopped.
Community
A principle-driven community that prioritizes verification over trust and keeps the chain alive through voluntary, open contribution.

Aerodrome Finance (AERO): Base’s Liquidity Engine Takes Flight Across Ethereum
The Project Type and Narrative
Aerodrome Finance is a next-generation MetaDEX and liquidity hub built on Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer-2.
It runs a ve(3,3) model that turns liquidity into a competitive marketplace rather than a simple swap venue. Traders, liquidity providers, and token issuers all interact through one coordinated system designed for deep, efficient markets.
The Problem It Solves and the Solution
Most DEXs split fees, leak value to middlemen, or rely on short-term incentives that fade.
Aerodrome solves this with a zero-leak design: 100% of trading fees and incentives flow to users who lock AERO into veAERO. Voters direct weekly emissions to the most productive pools, while liquidity providers earn those rewards. Multiple pool types (volatile, stable, and concentrated Slipstream) keep capital efficient.
The result is deeper liquidity, better execution, and aligned incentives that keep spinning the flywheel.
What Makes It Unique
Aerodrome launched in August 2023 with no VC funding or token sale and quickly became Base’s dominant DEX, often capturing roughly half of the chain’s volume.
It routinely delivers more revenue to token holders relative to volume than larger competitors like Uniswap.
The same team that built Velodrome on Optimism created a battle-tested incentive layer that turns governance into a real economic force.
Competition exists across Ethereum, but few match the combination of fee capture, community ownership, and liquidity coordination.
Recent Developments
The biggest catalyst is the merger with Velodrome into Aero, scheduled for October 21, 2026.
Aero becomes the unified liquidity layer across Base, Ethereum mainnet, OP Mainnet, Arbitrum, Arc, Ink, and Robinhood Chain. Existing AERO converts 1:1; VELO converts at approximately 0.044 AERO. Holders can upgrade to sAERO to allocate rewards cross-chain and earn exchange revenue.
Cumulative volume has already reached hundreds of billions, with lifetime revenue exceeding half a billion dollars. TVL sits near $370–400 million, and the protocol continues to lead Base activity.
Upcoming Developments
Once live, Aero expands the addressable market dramatically by connecting liquidity across major Ethereum networks under one system.
New tools for cross-chain allocation, autopilot strategies, and broader institutional-style markets (including tokenized assets) are expected to follow. Emissions shift to the new AERO with an anticipated annual inflation rate near 12%, managed to sustain growth without excessive dilution.
Token Purpose, Tokenomics, Price, and Market Cap
base:0x940181a94a35a4569e4529a3cdfb74e38fd98631 rewards liquidity providers and, when locked as veAERO (up to four years), grants voting power over emissions plus 100% of protocol fees and bribes.
Supply is inflationary through controlled weekly emissions rather than a hard cap; roughly half the supply is typically locked. Circulating supply is approximately 1 billion AERO.
As of mid-October 2026, AERO trades near $0.78 with a market cap around $780 million. The token’s value is directly tied to real exchange revenue rather than pure speculation.
Other Standout Aspects
The protocol runs on immutable, audited contracts with no centralized dependencies.
It has consistently ranked among the top DEXs by holder revenue despite operating primarily on a single L2, proving the strength of its economic design. The upcoming multi-chain leap positions it to compete at Ethereum scale.
Community
A dedicated Base-native community, active governance participants, and a growing following on X drive the protocol’s momentum.

the $STONK chart continues to look brutal, now down 72% from ATH.
interestingly, $ZCAT seems to have found a bottom over 2 weeks ago and has been trading in the $35 - 60m range since.
revenue also looks like it has bottomed out, with daily buybacks of $50 - 60k.
at current buyback levels, that translates to a P/E of around 4x.
if there's one thing i've learned, it's that you shouldn't try to catch a falling knife in crypto when the sustainability of the product is questionable.
so i haven't pulled the trigger yet, but still keeping the token on my watchlist.
clear buy signals for me would be:
- a breakout from $ZCAT, ideally backed by strong volume
- new STONK runner with the potential to hit $50m+
- onchain appetite or STONK revenue slowly creeping back up
brutal chart for $STONK.
at its peak, daily revenue and buybacks hit $1m for several days.
yesterday, daily revenue dropped below $100k for the first time since the run up.
another good reminder of how fast-moving this market is and why annualized revenue for new protocols is mostly a meme.
the good news for ecosystem believers, is that the token is down 66%, meaning a $100k buyback now burns as many tokens as a $300k buyback did at the ATH.
i'm currently sidelined but still keeping a close eye on the ecosystem.
The 39th anniversary of the original Black Monday.
Background
On October 19, 1987, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 22.6% in a single day (the largest one-day percentage drop on record). The S&P 500 dropped about 20.5%.
Both 1987 and 2026 are non-leap years that began on a Thursday, so the date falls on a Monday again.
What fueled the posts last weekend
Last week was rough for AI and semiconductor stocks:
- Nasdaq Composite down roughly 4.5% for the week (worst since June).
- Philadelphia Semiconductor Index down about 11%.
- CoreWeave fell ~25%; Oracle ~9%. Credit markets showed stress in parts of the AI sector (e.g., CoreWeave CDS spiked).
Other factors circulating in viral lists and posts:
- Oil above $100 (WTI settled near $101; Brent higher).
- VIX spiked to a four-month high (intraday above 22, closed near 20).
- Elevated bond yields and inflation concerns.
- Some geopolitical/oil-related headlines and weekend moves in tokenized/AI-related names.
- Unconfirmed rumors about an AI-focused fund.
This mix, plus the calendar coincidence, drove a big spike in “Black Monday” chatter on X and crypto social media (one analytics firm noted ~176 mentions on October 18 vs. a prior average under 2 per day). Prediction-market style posts even appeared asking whether the S&P would drop 5%+ on the day.
What actually happened / current picture
The feared crash did not materialize. As of Monday trading:
- U.S. futures rebounded, with Nasdaq 100 futures up around 1% and S&P 500 futures positive (roughly 0.5%), recovering most of Friday’s late losses.
- AI-related names (CoreWeave, Nvidia, Broadcom, etc.) were higher in premarket.
- Oil and yields eased somewhat.
- Asian markets were mixed/calm overall (some tech pressure continued in Japan, but no broad collapse).
Deutsche Bank and others explicitly noted the anniversary coinciding with the prior week’s AI sell-off and Friday’s late drop, but highlighted the overnight bounce in futures.
Key context
Modern markets have circuit breakers (trading halts at 7%, 13%, and 20% declines) that did not exist in 1987, which makes a single-day 20%+ crash far less likely. The sell-off was concentrated in AI/tech rather than broad-based. High valuations and AI-related credit/spending questions remain real sources of volatility, but the specific “repeat of 1987 today” narrative was largely calendar + recent weakness amplified on social media.

The Open Path to Superintelligence: Inside the ASI Alliance and FET
The Project and Its Narrative
Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) is a decentralized AI and AGI project - the world’s largest open-source initiative focused on building Artificial General Intelligence and eventually beneficial superintelligence outside Big Tech control.
Formed in 2024 through a community-approved token merger of Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and CUDOS (Ocean Protocol later withdrew), it unites autonomous agents, AI services, and decentralized compute under one token: ethereum:0xaea46a60368a7bd060eec7df8cba43b7ef41ad85.
What Problem It Solves
Centralized AI labs control data, compute, and models, creating risks of closed systems, bias, and restricted access. ASI counters this by delivering open infrastructure so developers, researchers, and enterprises can build ethical, scalable AI collaboratively.
The solution is a modular stack: intelligent multi-agent frameworks, decentralized compute (ASI:Cloud), developer tools, and coordination layers that let agents reason, learn, and act autonomously while remaining transparent and accessible.
Uniqueness and Competition
It stands out as the biggest coordinated open-source push toward decentralized AGI, combining specialized strengths rather than competing as a single protocol.
Competitors include other AI crypto networks such as Bittensor, but ASI’s federated model (agents from Fetch.ai, research and services from SingularityNET, and GPU compute from CUDOS) creates a broader, more composable ecosystem.
Recent Breakthroughs
Development has accelerated on ASI:Chain, the purpose-built Layer-1 for high-concurrency agent workloads. Public DevNet is live, Wallet SDK 2.0.0 released, node reliability and delegated staking improved, and cross-chain messaging advanced. ASI-1 Mini, a Web3-native LLM optimized for agentic workflows, is available, alongside Omega framework upgrades for knowledge management and multi-agent skills.
What's Coming Next
ASI:Chain mainnet is targeted for late 2026 or early 2027. Expect further agent platforms, expanded decentralized compute access, enhanced developer tooling, and deeper integration of research from the alliance’s AGI lab.
These steps aim to turn the merged resources into production-grade infrastructure for autonomous AI economies.
The FET Token and Tokenomics
ethereum:0xaea46a60368a7bd060eec7df8cba43b7ef41ad85 is the unified utility token for agent payments, staking (securing the Cosmos SDK-based network), governance voting, and economic coordination.
Total supply sits near 2.71 billion, with roughly 2.31 billion circulating. Most major unlocks from the merger and earlier allocations have completed or are on long schedules; remaining emissions are modest.
As of mid-October 2026, FET trades around $0.19 with a market capitalization near $440 million.
A Standout Feature
The alliance’s federated governance lets each founding project retain autonomy while all major decisions flow through ethereum:0xaea46a60368a7bd060eec7df8cba43b7ef41ad85 holder voting.
Combined with open research, grants, and a focus on beneficial AGI, this structure prioritizes transparency and broad participation over pure speculation.
Community
A global mix of AI researchers, blockchain builders, and active developers (over 300 experts across the member teams) keeps the ecosystem progressing through forums, grants, and open collaboration.

The Sovereign Cloud Where AI Builds the Web: Inside Internet Computer (ICP)
Project Type and Narrative
Internet Computer is a Layer-1 blockchain and sovereign cloud protocol, often called the World Computer.
Built by the DFINITY Foundation, it extends the public internet with decentralized hosting so full applications (frontend, backend, and data) run entirely on-chain at web speed.
The Problem and the Solution
Traditional cloud creates vendor lock-in, single points of failure, and constant security overhead. Most blockchains cannot host complete, interactive web apps or scale without sacrificing decentralization.
ICP solves this with subnets of independently operated nodes running the Internet Computer Protocol. Smart contracts become “canisters” that store code and data together, serve HTTP natively, and require no external databases.
The result is serverless, tamperproof software that keeps running even if individual nodes fail.
What Sets It Apart
ICP is unique in delivering full-stack decentralized apps with 1-2 second finality and reverse-gas economics (users pay via Cycles derived from burned ICP). Chain Fusion lets canisters directly hold and transact Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and other assets through chain-key cryptography, no bridges or custodians.
Competition exists in cloud (AWS, Google) and blockchain (Ethereum, Solana), yet none combine tamperproof execution, unbounded scalability via subnets, and native multi-chain capability in one network governed by the Network Nervous System DAO.
Recent Breakthroughs
Caffeine.ai lets anyone describe an app in natural language; AI then writes, deploys, and updates production software on ICP, with Motoko language safeguards that prevent data loss on upgrades. Hundreds of thousands of users are already building this way.
Cloud Engines enable private, sovereign subnets - Pakistan’s Digital Authority already runs government apps on one. Chain-key tokens (ckBTC, ckETH, ckSOL) and skills for AI coding agents further expand the ecosystem.
Upcoming Developments
Mission 70 aims to cut ICP inflation by at least 70% by the end of 2026 through lower node and voting rewards plus higher cycle burns from real usage (target ~2.92% annual rate).
Cloud Engine coupons and Open SaaS are rolling out to make enterprise AIware as easy as installing a phone app.
Further Chain Fusion expansions and agent-native infrastructure are also advancing.
The ICP Token: Purpose, Tokenomics, and Markets
base:0x00f3c42833c3170159af4e92dbb451fb3f708917 is the utility token converted into Cycles to pay for computation and storage (creating a burn mechanism). Holders stake it in neurons to govern the Network Nervous System and earn voting rewards. Node providers receive rewards for operating hardware.
Circulating supply stands near 558 million with no fixed maximum.
As of mid-October 2026 the price is approximately $2.92 and market capitalization roughly $1.62 billion.
Mission 70 is already reducing the previous ~9.7% inflation rate.
Standout Feature
Because canisters are cryptographically guaranteed to execute exactly as written, AI agents can safely build and upgrade production systems without human security teams. The network is the cloud - sovereign, unstoppable, and owned by no single company.
Community
A dedicated developer community works across the official forum, Discord, and NNS governance, with growing real-world sovereign adoption by governments and organizations.

From NFTs to Global Brand: The Pudgy Penguins Story
Pudgy Penguins began as an 8,888-piece NFT collection on Ethereum in 2021. Under new leadership, it evolved into a full-scale cultural IP brand blending meme energy, physical products, and the PENGU token as its social currency.
The Problem and the Solution
Crypto projects often stay trapped in digital bubbles with limited real-world reach. Pudgy Penguins solved this by building a lovable, positive brand that crosses into mainstream culture.
The team turned cute penguin characters into viral content, licensed merchandise, and toys now stocked in major retailers. PENGU opens the door for millions beyond the original NFT holders to join the ecosystem and share in the growth.
What Makes It Unique
Few crypto projects have matched this retail penetration. While competitors like Bored Ape Yacht Club focused mainly on digital status, Pudgy Penguins pushed into Walmart, Target, and beyond with plush toys, trading cards, and lifestyle products.
The OverpassIP model even lets some NFT holders earn from licensed physical goods featuring their characters. It is a rare phygital success story that feels more like a consumer brand than pure speculation.
Recent Wins and Shifts
The brand continues expanding offline. Pudgy Vibes trading cards hit Target shelves, and new product lines keep rolling out. NFT sales have surged recently, with a high-profile collector scooping up over 100 pieces to support the community.
Igloo, the parent company, is shutting down its Abstract layer-2 network by mid-December 2026. Resources are now fully redirected to the core Pudgy Penguins IP, NFTs, and PENGU token. The move signals a sharper focus on what already works.
Looking Ahead
Expect deeper retail licensing, more entertainment crossovers, and stronger integration of PENGU into games and experiences like Pudgy World. The goal remains building a global cultural phenomenon that brings new people into crypto through fun, accessible products rather than complex tech.
The PENGU Token
solana:2zMMhcVQEXDtdE6vsFS7S7D5oUodfJHE8vd1gnBouauv launched on Solana in December 2024 as the ecosystem’s social and utility token. It powers community governance, in-game features, exclusive access, and broader participation.
Total supply is 88.89 billion tokens. Roughly 62.86 billion (about 71%) are circulating, with heavy early airdrops to NFT holders and the community. Team and company allocations vest over several years.
As of mid-October 2026, PENGU trades near $0.0073 with a market cap around $460 million.
The Huddle
The community, known as the Huddle, stands out for its consistently positive energy and long-term support. It has helped turn a setback into one of crypto’s stronger brand comebacks.

EigenCloud: The Verifiable Cloud Powering Trusted AI Agents
From Restaking Pioneer to Agentic Infrastructure
EigenCloud is a developer platform for building verifiable applications and autonomous AI agents. Built on the original EigenLayer restaking protocol, it has evolved into the verifiable cloud for the agentic era.
Its narrative centers on extending Ethereum’s economic security beyond blockchains so that off-chain computation, AI inference, and autonomous agents can be trusted without relying on centralized operators.
The Trust Gap in AI and Off-Chain Systems
Traditional cloud services and AI models operate as black boxes. Users cannot easily prove that an agent ran the intended code, used the correct model, or produced unaltered results.
EigenCloud solves this by combining cryptoeconomic security with verifiable execution. Developers restake ETH, LSTs, or EIGEN to back operators. Those operators run services inside Trusted Execution Environments that generate cryptographic attestations.
Products like EigenCompute, EigenAI, and AgentKit let applications prove exactly what happened, turning verifiability into a programmable cloud primitive.
A Distinct Position in a Crowded Field
EigenCloud stands apart by layering restaking-based security under a full stack of verifiable services rather than offering restaking alone.
EigenLayer remains the underlying marketplace for trust, while EigenDA handles high-throughput data availability, EigenCompute runs confidential workloads, and EigenAI delivers deterministic, auditable inference. Competitors in pure restaking include Symbiotic and Karak, and Babylon targets Bitcoin-native security.
Few match the combination of pooled Ethereum security, TEE-backed execution, and purpose-built tools for sovereign AI agents.
Recent Progress and Expanding Capabilities
EigenAI and EigenCompute launched on mainnet, enabling drop-in verifiable LLM inference and containerized applications with cryptographic proofs.
AgentKit provides templates for agents that own wallets, hold persistent encrypted state, and pay for compute and inference with on-chain USDC. Slashing and unique stake allocation are live on the EigenLayer base, isolating risk across services.
Partnerships and ecosystem growth continue around agentic use cases such as trading agents, prediction markets, and verifiable workflows.
Roadmap Focused on the Agentic Economy
Development is shifting further toward agentic commerce, micropayments, and broader adoption of verifiable AI primitives. Fee models and potential EIGEN buyback mechanisms aim to better align token value with real usage. Expansion of AVS categories and deeper integrations for developers building trusted agents remain priorities.
Token Role and Market Snapshot
ethereum:0xec53bf9167f50cdeb3ae105f56099aaab9061f83 serves as the work and security token for intersubjective faults and protocol incentives. It is staked to back services whose correctness observers can agree on but smart contracts cannot prove directly.
Circulating supply sits near 974 million tokens out of a larger total, with ongoing vesting.
As of October 18, 2026, EIGEN trades around $0.23 with a market capitalization near $225–240 million.
Why This Matters Now
As AI agents take on higher-stakes tasks, verifiability becomes the missing foundation. EigenCloud turns Ethereum’s security into reusable infrastructure so developers can build agents users can actually trust.
Community
Builders and operators continue expanding the ecosystem of verifiable agents and services under the EigenCloud banner.

🗞️The Altseason Is cooling fast as Altcoin breadth drops from over 90% to around 52%
Between late August and early October, altcoins went through a brief altseason, which is now starting to fade.
To measure these favorable periods, the number of altcoins trading above their 200-day moving average, a key technical level, is a good indicator.
Over these two months, the share of Binance altcoins trading below their 200-dma fell from 81% to less than 10%. In other words, 9 out of 10 altcoins listed on Binance had entered a confirmed uptrend.
This move was fueled by an inflow of more than $814 billion across all altcoins over the same period.
Since then, the trend has lost momentum: 48.4% of Binance altcoins have fallen back below their 200-dma.
The trend has therefore reversed for nearly one altcoin out of two on the platform.
Over the last 15 days, more than $134 billion has left altcoins, an outflow likely driven in large part by quick profit-taking.
Altcoins remain a sector where dynamics, like investor sentiment, shift very quickly.
Yet history shows that it is when interest in and performance of altcoins are at their lowest that it becomes worthwhile to consider building an appropriate exposure.

Lowered crypto exposure in my #HolyGrailPortfolio from 52% to 44%, with proceeds payed back DeFi loan in full (-3% exposure), and increased cash from 10% to 15%.
To do this just weeks after I recommended the world to HODL crypto since it is so seriously undervalued. I changed my mind for same reason as last time I trimmed crypto exposure, right before it took off: I see too many opportunities elsewhere and prefer to have a more equal exposure in different uncorrelated investments, so that the volatility and risk goes down, while still preserving a high potential growth portfolio.
Also realized thanks to @ProfessorTewTew I need to focus on making quality decisions, and bad loans like margin loans are simply not a smart instrument to work with.
Reduced my $ZEC exposure the most, from 8% to 5%, as it's likely to go sideways or correct after it's recent strong pump, but also sold some #XMR, as it doubled also and I think the #privacycoin bull market, that I was first to call 1 to 2 years ago, played out well already but fundamentals not that great anymore now that I realize that they will likely continue to be scrutenized by exchanges for the foreseeable future. As the law stands, even #Zcash, with only optional privacy, is going to be banned from European exchanges starting July 2027.
Polkadot in 2026: The Apps That Are Actually Alive
Polkadot gets called a “dead chain” a lot. Some of that is fair: several big names left in the past year. But some teams kept building, and a handful of apps have real usage behind them.
Here’s what’s worth your attention, by category:
💧 DeFi
- Hydration (formerly HydraDX) is Polkadot’s DeFi hub. Its Omnipool puts all liquidity in a single pool, so liquidity providers can deposit one token instead of pairs. It also has a lending market, its own HOLLAR stablecoin, and DCA tools. If you only try one Polkadot DeFi app, make it this one.
- Bifrost handles liquid staking. You stake DOT and get vDOT, which keeps earning staking rewards while you use it elsewhere, for example as collateral on Hydration.
- Interlay brings Bitcoin to Polkadot as iBTC, backed by over-collateralized vaults. The bridge still works, but activity is low these days.
🌉 Bridges & Interoperability
- Snowbridge is the trustless bridge between Ethereum and Polkadot, built into Polkadot itself. It doesn’t rely on a multisig, which is the weak point behind most big bridge hacks.
- Turtle is the easiest way to use it: a clean interface for Ethereum ↔ Polkadot transfers and moving assets between Polkadot chains.
- Hyperbridge is an ambitious proof-based bridge, but it was exploited in April 2026 for roughly $2.5M and paused operations. Watch it, but don’t trust it with size yet.
🎮 Gaming & NFTs
- Mythos is Polkadot’s biggest gaming bet. Mythical Games runs FIFA Rivals, NFL Rivals and Pudgy Party on it: mainstream mobile games where blockchain ownership is optional, not forced on players.
- Chaotic is Polkadot’s main NFT marketplace, built by the former KodaDot team after KodaDot shut down. It maintains the marketplace and indexing infrastructure for 90,000+ NFTs on Asset Hub.
- Unique Network is an NFT-focused chain with advanced features like nested NFTs. The tech is solid, but activity is shrinking.
📡 DePIN (Real-World Infrastructure)
- Acurast turns smartphones into a decentralized compute network. Mainnet and token launch came in January 2026, with listings on Binance, OKX and Kraken. This is one of the most interesting newer projects in the ecosystem.
- peaq is a Layer 1 for the “machine economy”: vehicles, robots and devices that earn on-chain. Apps like Mapmetrics (drive-to-earn) and Silencio (noise mapping) run on it.
- Crust offers decentralized storage on top of IPFS. It’s still running but has faded from the spotlight.
🤖 AI & Data
- NeuroWeb is the Polkadot chain behind OriginTrail’s Decentralized Knowledge Graph, a “trusted knowledge” layer for AI. It’s one of the few Polkadot projects with a clear AI story that predates the hype.
- Acurast fits here too: its phone-based network is used for confidential AI workloads.
🪪 Social & Identity
- Frequency powers decentralized social graphs and was MeWe’s on-chain backbone, with around 1.3M users migrated. MeWe has since expanded to Avalanche, so keep an eye on it.
- Encointer runs local community currencies with proof-of-personhood. It’s small, but genuinely used, for example by a community in Tanzania since 2023.
- Heima (formerly Litentry) pivoted from identity to “chain abstraction”: one account across many chains, with gas fees handled for you.
⚙️ Smart Contract Platforms
- Polkadot Hub is the new center of the network. Since late 2025, balances, assets and governance live there, and it’s where native smart contracts are heading.
- Astar is still a Polkadot parachain with EVM and WASM support, though its strategy increasingly revolves around Soneium, Sony’s Layer 2.
👛 Wallets (where to start)
- Nova Wallet: the best mobile option, with strong staking and governance features.
- Talisman: a browser extension with a clean portfolio dashboard and EVM support.
- SubWallet: covers the most chains and works on both desktop and mobile.
🚪 Who Left
To be fair, here are the big departures:
Moonbeam relaunched on Base in July 2026 and shut its parachain, taking StellaSwap and Moonwell’s Polkadot deployment with it.
Phala moved to Ethereum and its own L2 in late 2025.
KILT, Polkadex, Joystream and Aleph Zero are effectively gone.
🧭 Bottom Line
Polkadot in 2026 is smaller and more concentrated than in 2021. The quality is in a few places: Hydration + Bifrost for DeFi, Snowbridge for ETH liquidity, Mythos for gaming, and Acurast + peaq for DePIN.
If you’re exploring, start with a wallet, bridge a small test amount through Turtle, and try Hydration. Always check a project’s recent activity before trusting old directory listings, because many of them are out of date.
Not financial advice! DYOR.

A few people asked me: "Ethena Pay or Etherfi Cash?"
My answer? Both
I think @EthenaPay and @ether_fi have very different strengths, and you don't need to pick a winner.
Here's how I'd compare them:
1. Yield mechanism
Ethena Pay offers 5% annual rewards on eligible balances for standard users, up to $5,000.
What's interesting is that Ethena already operates the yield-generating infrastructure behind USDe, with a promotional boost covering the difference between the underlying rate and the advertised reward.
Etherfi takes a different approach.
It offers lending-based yield and automated DeFi strategies through its Liquid vaults.
You can earn on stablecoins, ETH, BTC and other supported assets, depending on the product.
The trade-off?
Ethena Pay offers a simpler experience with a defined promotional rate, while Etherfi gives users more yield options, with returns varying across assets and strategies.
2. Cashback
This is where Ethena Pay currently looks more attractive for standard users.
• Ethena Pay: 4% cashback on the first $2,500 of eligible monthly spending, paid in AVAX.
• Etherfi Cash: 3% cashback on the first $2,000 of eligible monthly USD spending, paid in ETHFI.
Both rates decrease as spending crosses their respective thresholds, and both reward tokens can fluctuate in value.
For everyday spending, I'd lean toward Ethena Pay.
3. Collateral and capital efficiency
Here's where Etherfi has a major advantage.
With Etherfi Cash, you can spend in two ways:
• Direct Pay: Spend supported assets directly.
• Borrow Mode: Borrow against eligible crypto assets instead of selling them.
For example, you can hold ETH or BTC as collateral and use your borrowing power for everyday spending.
Your eligible collateral can continue earning yield while backing the loan.
Ethena Pay is more straightforward. You spend from your balance without managing a collateralized loan.
Both approaches make sense for different situations.
4. Asset variety
Another area where Etherfi stands out.
It supports a broader range of assets across its lending and yield products, including stablecoins, ETH, BTC and tokenized assets.
Ethena Pay is more focused on its stablecoin ecosystem.
That makes Etherfi more flexible for users who already hold different crypto assets and want to put them to work.
But broader asset support doesn't automatically mean better returns or lower risks.
So, my verdict?
Don't choose. Use both.
I'd use @EthenaPay for everyday spending, earning on idle stablecoin balances and taking advantage of its attractive cashback.
It's a great way to turn some of your crypto profits into real-life experiences instead of leaving everything in your portfolio.
And @ether_fi Cash for broader asset exposure, DeFi yield opportunities and the flexibility to spend against crypto holdings without selling them.
Of course, neither is risk-free.
Ethena's returns depend on USDe's underlying strategies and promotional rewards.
Etherfi introduces lending, smart contract and strategy risks, so I'd definitely recommend understanding how its Liquid vaults generate yield before depositing.
Both platforms publish information about their mechanisms, but that doesn't eliminate the risks.
And cashback incentives can change on either platform.
But I think the bigger takeaway is that these products solve different problems.
One makes stablecoin yield more useful in everyday life.
The other makes your existing crypto portfolio more financially flexible.
For me, that's a pretty good reason to keep both.
Convex Finance: The Yield Multiplier That Still Rules the Curve Wars
The DeFi Engine Behind Boosted Rewards
Convex Finance is a DeFi yield optimizer and meta-governance protocol built primarily on #Ethereum.
Its core narrative is pure yield maximization and the famous “Curve Wars,” where protocols compete for liquidity incentives. It also extends the same model to Frax, f(x), and related ecosystems.
The Lockup Problem Solved
Curve Finance’s veCRV system forces users to lock #CRV for up to four years to unlock maximum boosts, fees, and voting power. That capital becomes illiquid and the barrier is high for most liquidity providers.
Convex aggregates thousands of positions into one massive, permanently locked veCRV (and veFXS, veFXN) balance. Users deposit Curve LP tokens or CRV, receive liquid tokens like cvxCRV, and earn boosted rewards plus extra CVX incentives without personally locking anything for years.
The result is higher capital efficiency and simpler yield farming.
Unique Position in the Ecosystem
While other aggregators exist, Convex became the dominant player by controlling a large share of veCRV (historically around 50%). This turned CVX into the practical lever for directing Curve emissions. The protocol also pioneered liquid representations of locked tokens and enabled the bribe markets that define the Curve Wars.
Competition exists from other veToken wrappers, but Convex’s scale and integration depth remain hard to match.
Recent Momentum
Convex has expanded on-chain voting infrastructure so vlCVX holders can efficiently influence gauges across Curve, Frax, f(x), and Resupply. Staking wrappers make Convex positions easily composable for lending and vaults.
Recent integrations, such as Tangent enabling interest-free borrowing against CVX/ETH LP tokens while still earning rewards, turn productive liquidity into usable collateral.
Sidechain deployments on #Arbitrum, #Polygon, and #Fraxtal continue to broaden reach.
What Comes Next
Expect deeper composability as more protocols treat Convex LP positions as productive collateral. Further refinements to the on-chain voting platform and continued expansion across veToken ecosystems are natural next steps as the supply of new CVX approaches its hard cap.
Token Utility and Economics
$CVX is used for staking (to earn a share of protocol fees as cvxCRV), vote-locking into vlCVX for governance and bribe capture, and directing the protocol’s large veCRV/veFXS holdings.
Maximum supply is capped at 100 million. New tokens are minted only when users claim CRV on Convex, with the mint ratio declining in cliffs every 100,000 CVX.
Initial allocation included 50% for Curve LP rewards, 25% for liquidity mining over four years, and smaller vested portions for team, treasury, and investors. Circulating supply is now very close to the maximum.
As of mid-October 2026, CVX trades around $1.93 with a market capitalization near $180–195 million and protocol TVL in the $575 million range.
The Quiet Powerhouse
Convex quietly sits at the center of one of DeFi’s most important liquidity flywheels. By turning long-term locks into liquid, boosted, and governable positions, it continues to capture real economic activity and influence where incentives flow.
The community remains active and sophisticated, centered around yield strategies, bribe participation, and governance across multiple protocols.

Why Use a Systematic Approach
And how it will change your whole Trading for the better and probably solves your problems.
There are people that track my Channel on 618ers and count the RR that would’ve been possible on specific styles from fixed RR to trailing. Thank you for that, that motivates me even more to fully professionalize it.
I traded a long time under the perception - what I do is full discretionary.
It’s not.
The more I tracked myself & my trades, the more I recognized that the trades I entered - even while believing its pure discretion - follow a system.
The winners have specific attributes, same like the losers. So I either stay on the „discretionary“ side and I am in front of chart and interpreting a lot, that already works pretty well.
Or I go the professional way, build and deploy Systems based on Data.
Why will that outperform?
Simple: look around at different Trading Communities. Ask people that are saying specific things work well or not. Ask them for the Data. Many have an opinion but no Data.
Are they guessing?
„But the Data is from the Past“ - the Trades I took weren’t backed by Data from the past, no I forward tested. So I gathered Data that is now in the past - thats how it works.
I See people using a lot of "confirmations" and many timeframes, that causes ton of data - is there a System behind all that?
Nothing is impossible. If so - whats the Data? And in what Context did it work?
If there are answers it can be put into a System. If there is no answer it's not reliable. Something that is not reliable wont be able to outperform.
Not only that, if you have to constantly interpret PA if something shows up and make ton of decisions if you enter or not it’s massively vulnerable for human error.
Thats not a professional approach.
The Systematic approach makes that reliable and way easier.
Now the human doesn’t need to make many decisions - it either fits the System or not. Thats why it will outperform!
"Where to Take Profit?" "Should I enter here? I already had a loss today." - your System answers that. And much more. Once you have a System, there is no reason to doubt your Skill. Even better - it's limitless. You can build an unlimited number of Systems.
If you don’t have any Data you can’t deny that you rely on yourself and on your interpretation. Trying to beat the market that we believe is run by an Algorithm with your own interpretation has a low probability. Thats backed by Data. The Algorithm runs on..?
I can put my approaches on different Assets into Systems and for each of them I can give Data.
And it works, the results show themselves in the Present. So it’s not only something that worked in the past - no, it continues to work.
In my opinion it’s the only and best way to approach the Markets.
Why?
The human rate of failure when predicting the future is how high? There is Data for that.
And even better - your confidence will rise massively. The moment you start working on your System you will finally start treating your Trading like a business.
Below is the equity curve of an LTF System I run already that I am optimizing. On 120 Trades it has 16% Max Drawdown.
What is your approach and do you have a systematic one?
