A tall tale that explores themes of redemption, vengeance, trauma, recovery, love, loss, and the complexities of human emotions and morality, set against richly detailed historical and geographical backdrops. 1884, Cairo, four o’clock in the morning, a late train limps into the station, an identity is mistaken, and a vicious outrage carried out. Battered and bruised Amy Grace wakes in a brothel, the Dove House matriarch caring for her. A quest for vengeance dominates, a flying machine acquired and a cruel man chased. Battles are fought in the ruins of Khartoum, in a remote desert oasis, a British outpost in the Northwest Frontier, and a Montana cabin. The Celtic war goddess Badb assists with her physical duels, but those battles in her mind, those are hers and hers alone. This is the tale of how and why a young woman from Ireland ended up in the Dove House, and what she ended up doing about it. Available from Amazon - eBook, Paperback & Hardback.

Sometimes the effort is rewarded with a worthy view. Today was not such a day... Binnian was just not playing.

Over 70 percent of you are younger than I am by a few decades. My editor recently asked me what I hope the American public understands about my generation. This was my answer: My generation often faced impossible situations, but we accepted the missions we were given. As stated in Isaiah 6:8: "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" We may not have been the greatest generation, but we are their proud sons and daughters, and we learned from them. I think we made them proud.

It's been a good day thus far, drinking tea, typing away and slowly adding to my WiP - I've been making progress. Now the wheels have ground to a halt while I adopt the default position of most writers by overthinking the next few words...

All the soft fruit is in (and it was a bumper year), all we have left is this last apple tree - and we've no idea what to do with it. #harvest

A nice walk to/from Hares Gap. I always carry a map & compass (habit), but now I also have to carry folding reading glasses (little brown pouch). #gettingold
