Today’s final Non-themed “Honorable” mention is from Trainer AmongMasks (@AmongMasks) in California, 🇺🇸!
This postcard features a neon sign/mural art installation that is a prominent custom art feature that sets a vibrant, modern tone for its environment. It is located inside Cinco TacoBar (cincotacobar.com) in San Leandro, California (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Le…).
The piece is a full-wall indoor custom piece blending traditional cultural imagery with contemporary urban aesthetics.
It features a highly stylized Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) calavera (sugar skull) wearing a Top Hat neon sign. These signs can be purchased across multiple websites like Amazon (amazon.com/clp/B0F4Q6DNJD).
The mural behind the neon calavera depicts a mountainous landscape silhouetted against a crescent moon.
The Mountains: Dark, hazy mountain ridges and slopes frame the lower half and right side of the mural.
The Sky & Moon: A glowing, stylized crescent moon shines, casting a soft, warm gradient across the dark sky.
Beneath the calavera the text "Tacos Over Vatos" (loosely translating from slang as "Tacos Over Guys/Dudes") is painted.
The artistic direction and conceptual installation were commissioned directly by the restaurant's ownership as part of the brand's signature contemporary and Instagram-friendly interior design.

Today’s final “Honorable” mention is from Trainer AmongMasks (@AmongMasks) in California, 🇺🇸!
This postcard features a sculpture titled “Calimar”. The interactive piece is permanently installed near the Seaplane Lagoon and the central bay ferry terminal area at Alameda Point shoreline (alamedaca.gov/Departments/Re…) in Alameda, California (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alamed…).
The sculpture depicts a monumental, stylized squid. Standing approximately 12 feet tall, its large bronze tentacles flow downward to serve as organic structural arches and columns.
This specific design choice invites the public to walk through and physically interact with the inner and outer spaces created by the creature. Additionally, instead of traditional suction cups, the tentacles feature stylized porthole-shaped rings. These open rings serve a dual purpose: they function as a visual homage to the naval history of the area and allow natural light to pierce through the metal work.
Calimar was envisioned and crafted by Rossella Scapini (sculpturerox.com/en/), an Italian-born sculptor and painter. Calimar was funded and commissioned through the Alameda Public Art Commission (alamedapublicartwork.com) and was formally installed in November 2021 as her very first large-scale public art monument.
Selfie time! 😊

This postcard features The Golden Gate Bridge (goldengate.org), one of the world's most recognizable engineering achievements. It is celebrated for its unique engineering and striking aesthetics. The bridge is located in San Francisco (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Fr…).
The bridge spans the Golden Gate Strait (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden…), the 1-mile-wide (1.6 km) channel connecting the San Francisco Bay (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Fr…) with the Pacific Ocean. It directly links the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Fr…) to Marin County along U.S. Route 101.
Architectural Style
The bridge is universally praised for seamlessly combining functional suspension mechanics with Art Deco design (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_De…) details.
Design Elements: Consulting architect Irving Morrow (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irving…) introduced stylized chevron motifs, vertical fluting on the towers, and stepped brackets that play beautifully with changing daylight.
Signature Color: Painted entirely in International Orange, the distinct shade was selected to complement the natural coastal landscape while remaining highly visible to passing ships through dense California fog.
Historical Significance
Constructed between 1933 and 1937, the bridge stands as a profound symbol of American determination during the Great Depression (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_…).
Engineering Triumph: At the time of its completion, it was both the longest and tallest suspension bridge in the world, completely debunking critics who claimed strong ocean currents and deep waters made it impossible to build.
Economic Lifeline: Before its opening, San Francisco was the largest U.S. city still heavily reliant on a slow ferry system. The bridge allowed rapid physical expansion, trade, and economic growth throughout Northern California.

Today’s final and Non-themed “Honorable” mention is from Trainer AmongMasks (@AmongMasks) in California, 🇺🇸!
This postcard showcases a vibrant mural titled “Nudibrain” prominently painted on the back exterior brick wall of Sacred Nine Tattoo (sacredninetattoo.com) in Downtown Sacramento (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacram…).
It features a human skull seamlessly merged with a bioluminescent jellyfish cap. Translucent pink and neon purple tentacles wrap around the jawline, while pale green oyster mushrooms bloomed along the vertebrae.
It explores the core theme of nature reclaiming the physical body, illustrating a beautiful, ethereal intersection where decay feeds new life forms. The title itself playfully references nudibranchs—soft-bodied marine gastropod mollusks known for their striking, vibrant colors.
The piece was created by Molly Devlin (instagram.com/devlinmolly?ig…), a contemporary surrealist painter and public artist. was created alongside her frequent collaborator and fellow Sacramento-based artist, Stephen V. Williams (instagram.com/svwilliamsart?…), as part of the city's famous Wide Open Walls (wideopenwalls.com) mural festival. Devlin's work heavily features "botanical beasts"—dreamlike mutations where animals, humans, and flora morph into one another to question our relationship with the natural world. She transitions between intricate studio acrylic paintings on wood and massive outdoor brick murals utilizing highly precise acrylic and aerosol layering techniques to create glowing transparency effects.
@ofekmi, you have got to have this one! @AvatarFailed39 check out these artists owls, especially Stephen V. Williams Owl Snail artwork! ❤️

Today’s second “Honorable” mention is from Trainer AmongMasks (@AmongMasks) in California, 🇺🇸!
This postcard showcases a Chinese Dragon mural located on an exterior alley wall in the vibrant Midtown / Downtown grid of Sacramento (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacram…).
It features a stylized traditional Chinese dragon rendered in a classic, bold West Coast street-graffiti aesthetic. The dragon is illustrated with scales, diamond-glistening accents near its eyes, and powerful claws clutching a glowing violet orb or pearl. In Chinese mythology, a dragon clutching a flaming pearl symbolizes the pursuit of spiritual energy, wisdom, prosperity, and power.
Unfortunately, I failed to identify the artist. 😢

Today’s Daily Pick is from Trainer AmongMasks (@AmongMasks) in California, 🇺🇸! However, this postcard is from Chicago, Illinois.
This postcard showcases a massive, highly detailed street artwork titled "Kong Shogun”. The mural spans a large industrial exterior wall in Chicago's (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicag…) vibrant art and industrial corridor.
It was painted during the 2022 Titan Walls Festival (titanwalls.muros.com), Chicago's largest mural festival. It was created by globally recognized Queens, New York muralist and artist Satoshi “Dragon76” Fujita (dragon76art.com) as part of his “"coexistence" series.
It features a giant, stylized futuristic gorilla or more specifically, King Kong…blending ancient Japanese Samurai armor with robotic, sci-fi mechanical gear. It juxtaposes past traditions (the Samurai/Shogun ethos) with future technology. Characterized by bold, sharp outlines, heavy textures, and a vibrant color palette using contrasting shades of deep blue, bright orange, and billowing white smoke. The design embeds the signature "OBS" markings often seen in his futuristic machinery designs.
Satoshi’s style heavily incorporates elements of Japanese manga and anime culture (such as Katsuhiro Otomo's work) combined with classic New York style graffiti street art. He is deeply connected to the hip-hop and street art subcultures. He is a highly accomplished live-painter who won the prestigious Art Battle in New York twice before capturing the national title. He is known for executing monumental public murals across the globe.
⭐️ for a well thought out and completely appropriate sticker pairing of Greninja…fusing together the ancient Japanese traditions of Samuri and Ninja! Impressive!

I love meeting Trainers from all over the world during these live events, but every once in a while you encounter one that really makes an impact and touches your soul.
I got emotional today meeting Trainer AmongMasks (@AmongMasks) from California today.
She hand made this Pokélid mirror based off of the real lid of Umbreon in Japan for me and brought it all the way from California.
My son laughed at me on the way back to the apartment…I literally was crying y’all! This really made my entire trip and AmongMasks was very thoughtful and kind to take the time to do something like this.
To say the least, I am humbled and overwhelmed by the kindness shown. Thank you so very much @AmongMasks! This is going on my wall next to @KiwiGenPoke’s artwork! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Today’s Daily pick is from Trainer AmongMasks (@AmongMasks) in California, 🇺🇸!
This postcard showcases graffiti art in Los Angeles.
It depicts an Egyptian-themed cosmic scene, featuring a silhouetted figure (likely a pharaoh or Egyptian deity) holding a staff, standing before large stylized pyramids. A glowing, red-rimmed planet dominates the upper right corner, typical of the "space art" genre.
The mural aligns with the ancient Egyptian belief that the afterlife involved an ascent to the heavens or the stars. They often viewed the Milky Way as a celestial counterpart to the Nile River, a path souls navigated after death.
The central silhouette can be interpreted as the Sheut (shadow), which the Egyptians believed was a vital part of the soul that accompanied the deceased into the afterlife. An Ankh or symbol of life (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankh) can be seen in the silhouette’s right hand.
The glowing, red-rimmed planet or sun in the upper right may represent the Solar Disk, a symbol of the sun god Ra (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ra) and the cycle of rebirth. Ancient Egyptians believed the deceased would join Ra on his daily journey across the sky to be reborn each morning.
The pyramids serve as symbols of transformation and gateways to the divine realm, intended to protect and guide the soul for eternity.
While it uses modern graffiti techniques, the mural captures the essence of the Egyptian "Book of the Dead” (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_o…), which provided a "map" for the soul's perilous journey through the underworld (Duat) toward an eternal paradise.
The piece is a form of spray paint art (also known as aerosol art), which often features sci-fi and cosmic themes, such as planets, stars, and landscapes.
It was created by the Los Angeles artist Nuke (b-lightproductions.com/talen…).
Artists like Nuke often use specialized spray painting techniques to create these vibrant, otherworldly scenes, often performing them as live street art or sharing them through online tutorials.

This postcard showcases a large mural in Oakland.
The mural is based on the life of Yu Gwan Sun (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yu_Gwa…), a Korean folk hero and a relative of the artist.
The artwork is titled "Han", a complex Korean concept that suggests deep-seated sorrow or resentment, often coupled with a sense of resilience or hope. The crane is a traditional Korean symbol of longevity and good fortune.
It was painted as part of the BAMFest in May 2018. The image is a piece of public art that blends traditional Korean motifs with contemporary sensibilities to convey nuances of the Korean diaspora.
The mural is by artist Dave Young Kim (theurbaneartist.com/artists/…). Dave Young Kim (instagram.com/daveyoungkim?i…) is a Korean American artist known for large-scale narrative works that engage with community histories and themes of identity and belonging.
I found this short article about the inspiration for this mural (oaklanddailyphoto.blogspot.c…).

For the second day in a row, Trainer AmongMasks (@AmongMasks) in California 🇺🇸 gets my Daily Pick. And how lovely a pick it is. It would have gone nicely with last months theme…but a beautiful postcard is a beautiful postcard!
This mural is by Kinetik Ideas, also known as Anthony Padilla (wideopenwalls.com/artists/ki…) and is located on the side of the Residence Inn by Marriott at in Sacramento. The mural depicts a field of orange poppies and bees with a cloudy sky and a honeycomb pattern. The mural is part of the Wide Open Walls festival, an annual event that brings artists to Sacramento to create public art.
The poppy featured is the California Poppy (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esch…). It is the state flower. When I lived in the Antelope Valley there was a festival not to far away (held once the flowers bloomed) and I remember seeing rolling hill fields of them. The hills in the background remind me so much of those times. People often drive miles and miles to see them and plan photoshoots with the poppies as the background.

Wow! 3 million catches—it’s still sinking in! I never imagined reaching this milestone. This accomplishment isn’t just mine—it’s a shared victory with the friends and community who’ve supported me every step of the way. There were days when hitting this goal felt out of reach, but knowing I had an amazing community by my side pushed me to keep going. Every time we met up to raid or share the excitement of a new event, it reminded me why I love this game so much—it’s the friendships, the shared experiences, and the memories we’ve built together. You all kept me motivated, even during the most challenging moments, and I’m grateful for each one of you.
