I used three major criteria for fair maps: 1) counties, cities and other communities of interest are kept intact 2) partisan breakdown of districts roughly coincides with that of each state. 3) enough competitive districts that House control would always be up for grabs

The American maps guy is proud to announce his candidacy for New York’s 10th district. He doesn’t live in the district, but his mom grew up somewhere around there, which is more of a connection to the district than some of the other candidates have.
This Redistricting cycle, the VA-1 and VA-7 swapped some of their constituents out, most notably in PWC and the Richmond suburbs. Here's how the portions of those districts voted in 2020 and 2021. Also, happy birthday @jmilescoleman!

Congratulations to me for actually making a map instead of just puns.
It might be true that Josh Shapiro is similar to Terry McAuliffe, but Doug Mastriano is far from a Youngkin-quality candidate.

Looks like Ron Johnson is running for re-election. He will likely face Lt Governor Mandela Barnes. In classic Wisconsin fashion, voters will choose between the very conservative johnson and very progressive Barnes. It looks like the race will be a Barnes-burner (ba-dun-tss)
Even without the VRA, it would be geographically impossible to eliminate Cori Bush’s district.

St Louis isn’t a centrally-located city that could easily get chopped up like, say, Nashville. It’s located in an awkward position that makes it pretty much impossible to split.
