Most clinicians don’t love the technology they’re required to use. In fact, the NPS for most EHRs ranges from -24 to +30. A new paper in npj Health Systems, co-authored by a team from the @ClevelandClinic, reports an NPS of 60 for Ambience among clinicians surveyed after a year of use. That’s on par with products like the iPhone. In today’s 1 Minute Chart Review, Ambience's Head of External Research, Ben Rosner, MD, PhD explains how NPS works and why this number matters. Successful partnerships start with a shared definition of success. And outcome-based pricing puts that definition in the contract. On the Digital Health Roundtable, Ambience’s Chief Medical Officer, Michael Han, MD MBA, explains how Ambience partners with health systems to identify the most important metrics and tie performance directly to financial commitments. This is the Ambience Standard. Thank you to Matt Cybulsky, PhD, for the conversation. Listen to the full episode at the link in the comments #healthcare #healthtech #ai
60% of physicians surveyed strongly agreed that Ambience made them more likely to stay in practice. Next up on the 1 Minute Chart Review: Ambience's Head of External Research, Ben Rosner, MD, PhD, breaks down research co-authored by a team from the @ClevelandClinic, examining the relationship between Ambience and physician retention. Ambience's inpatient suite was built specifically for hospitalists and inpatient teams, not adapted from an outpatient tool. From the moment a patient is admitted, Ambience delivers a recap of the patient's history so hospitalists can quickly orient to the case. Then it listens to the patient conversation and combines that with chart data to generate a full H&P note with a structured, problem-based assessment and plan #AI #healthcare #healthtech
A fine-tuned speech recognition model transcribes what it hears, but it has no idea who's in the room. Our engineering team's latest blog post breaks down how we solved that gap with chart-aware context: feeding a patient's own medication list and history into a reconciliation step so the system can tell similar-sounding words apart based on what's actually true for that patient. It was the single largest improvement we measured across the entire pipeline, cutting keyword error by 57%. The lesson: the biggest gains didn't come from a bigger model, they came from giving the model the right evidence to work with. As AI-driven documentation and coding draw national interest, third-party validation matters more than ever. That's why Ambience's coding accuracy undergoes continuous audit by the @aapcstaff, the leading professional body for medical coders. On the #EmpoweredPatientPodcast with host @KarenJagoda, Ambience's Chief Medical Officer Michael Han, MD MBA explained how Ambience's technology puts the power of a coding professional at the elbow of every physician and APP. We're hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to help set the technical direction for the AI systems behind Ambience's clinical products. This role owns model quality across our hardest problems: a coding model that navigates a proprietary million-term ontology, a scribe that learns from clinician edits without regressions, and long-context chart understanding that stays accurate under real clinical complexity. Based in #SanFrancisco, hybrid three days a week. Apply at the link in the comments #hiring #recruitment #AI #tech #healthtech
Ambience Chorus is a system of action. It doesn't just understand a patient, it puts that understanding to work. In this case, a hospitalist noticed a patient deteriorating and asked Chorus what was happening. Chorus pulled together four separate clues already sitting in the chart: a nursing flowsheet note, a CT report, a lab result, and a line in the medical history. On its own, no single clue pointed to the answer. Together, they matched the pattern for HLH, a rare and dangerous inflammatory syndrome. Chorus ran the HScore, linked every input back to its source, and recommended urgent specialist evaluation. The specialist confirmed the diagnosis and started treatment that same day #AI #Healthcare #hcsm
Rounding on an inpatient service means picking up a case that changed overnight, often across multiple consults and evolving diagnoses. Most AI tools were built for outpatient visits and don't carry context across a multi-day stay. Ambience picks up where yesterday's note left off, pulls in overnight labs, meds, vitals, and consults, and shows the hospitalist exactly what changed. There's no copy-forward error and no drafting a note from scratch, just an accurate picture of where the patient stands right now #AI #Healthcare #Inpatient #hcsm
Nearly 1 in 5 Ambience employees has a clinical background. That means physicians building for physicians, APPs building for APPs, and nurses building for nurses. As our Chief Medical Officer, Michael Han, MD MBA, shared on the #EmpoweredPatientPodcast with host @KarenJagoda, baking clinical expertise directly into the product development process is a key part of what sets Ambience apart.
