There is synergy treating HFpEF, hypertension, and CKD says expert @hvanspall
Last but definitely not least, Dr Grurusher Panjrath shares the latest data about how low is too low in managing blood pressure for patients with HFpEF?? Some data suggest that systolic less than 120 mmHg is associated with worse outcomes. Lowest risk of poor outcomes is 120-130
Hey Cardiologists!
What can we do?
Make sure you adjust BP meds as you diurese your patient. Be sure to think holistically about antihypertensives. As you drop MAP, creatinine will naturally increase, but this may not represent structural damage of the kidney #aha2025
Next up: Dr Shweta Bansal gives a nephrologist's perspective about HFpEF therapy in the setting of CKD. Spoiler alert: don't be afraid to treat! The conditions make each other worse, so don't wait to start therapy.

Also, interestingly, ischemic heart disease is the number one cause of HF. But the leading cause in women is hypertension. Both are largely preventable!!
