… Hon. MP (Rajya Sabha) @HarshShringla delivered an engaging keynote speech, drawing upon his own vast diplomatic experience. It was great to have my book find a mention in his address. Amb Dnyaneshwar Mulay @navnirmiti dwelt on how he conceptualised this unique litfest that is focussed on diplomats’ writings. Delegates and students lapped it all up. The @WBBLITFEST couldn’t be complete without the Rajasthani warmth and rich culture @Neemrana_Hotels (..2/2)

Why did Project Cheetah’s first meeting happen on Zoom? Why Namibia and not Iran? And what happened when a cheetah died just before the big move? In an episode of Kitabwala, @TheLallantop's @DkReportsHere speaks to @AmbPrashant, author of 'Bringing the Cheetah Back to India', about the diplomacy, setbacks and untold stories behind Project Cheetah. #BookReview | When we think of diplomacy, our mind instinctively thinks of nuclear deals or strategic partnerships. But sometimes, it is about about bringing cheetahs back to a nation that was once home to these big cats and correcting a historical loss. Project Cheetah exemplifies just that. The story of KJP21 giving birth to five healthy cubs did not begin in the wild. But in diplomacy when Project Cheetah was launched in 2022 with the reintroduction of eight Namibian cheetahs in @KunoNationalPrk. Reviewing the book ‘Bringing the Cheetah Back to India: How Diplomacy Made Conservation’s Big Mission Possible,’ by @AmbPrashant , who steered the Project Cheetah at the Namibian end in 2022, @JunjunSharma notes how Project Cheetah is one of the most extraordinary diplomatic missions in independent India. Pathak explains how the project was never just about relocating the wild cats, it was about forging international partnerships and demonstrating how diplomacy can restore India’s natural heritage. “Restoring the cheetah is also about reversing consequences of colonialism, as the species’ extinction was largely due to colonial practices of overhunting and habitat destruction,” said Agrawal in the book. “Just as the Kohinoor represents a lost piece of India’s material heritage, the cheetah represents a lost part of India’s natural heritage,” writes Pathak. Another historic and joyous milestone for Project Cheetah! 🐆❤️ KJP21, a 32-month-old Indian-born female cheetah, has given birth to five healthy cubs in Kuno National Park today. KJP21 is the third Indian-born female cheetah to give birth, after Mukhi and KGP12—an important milestone in the emergence of the next generation of India’s cheetah population. With the arrival of these five cubs, the cheetah population in India has reached 60, including 41 Indian-born cheetahs. Importantly, these cubs also mark the beginning of the Botswanan lineage in India, as their father is a Botswanan male cheetah—adding a new genetic lineage to India’s growing cheetah population. Another generation born on Indian soil, adding yet another beautiful chapter to the remarkable story of cheetah reintroduction in India. Heartfelt congratulations to the veterinarians, field staff, managers and everyone associated with Project Cheetah, whose dedication, commitment and tireless efforts have made these moments possible. Welcome to the world, little ones 🐆 #WildlifeWeek2026
