It ran two weeks after the hardest test of my time as CEO, so I read it less as a story about me and more as a checklist of what this job actually demands:
1. Trust is the product. When we were hit on Sept 24, the only question that mattered was whether users' balances were safe. The Protection Fund Bitget built back in 2022 absorbed the loss, and we reopened withdrawals in phases with live updates along the way. The "boring" decisions made in good times are what carry you through bad ones.
2. Judge assets, not hype. The ICO era isn't coming back. Users want real assets and sustainable business models. At its peak this year, around 40% of our volume came from non-crypto assets.
3. Lead teams, not titles. Most of the job is making hard calls and helping people understand them, at work and at home.
Still a lot to earn and build. Thank you to everyone who stood by us.
