I was asked about my opinion on this recent study into #MECFS and I wanted to share here as well. First and foremost, sincere congratulations to the research team for some stellar work. I will never stop cheering for groups that are working to uncover the biological 1/

Love this. I still mask in public and it is def stigmatised. Most disabled people I know do not mask and most do not accommodate my masking. I am routinely excluded from social events because I think people find even being out with a masked person embarrassing/ difficult.

Recently saw and forgot to note a Judith Butler quote about misconceptions re gender performativity. Something about there being no pre-gendered subject; it not being the case that people get up in the am and decide what gender to perform. Can anyone point me to that quote? TIA!

This really was a moving as well as fascinating event
tell me why I teared up twice during
@anna_stenning's book launch, once while sarah lucas spoke, and again when @DrJamesMcGrath read out his poem.
what a lovely session chaired by @aryathampuran and facilitated by @Incidentallyb
What a brilliant methodology piece. When I read articles like this it gives me faith there's a space for me (always working in crip time) in this field. Also made me think in new ways about my relationship with obstructive sleep apnoea and my CPAP machine...

My book UNHEARD: The Medical Practice of Silencing is out 4th July 2024! Pre-order here geni.us/Unheard
Being heard & taken seriously should be a fundamental part of healthcare. In UNHEARD I look at why this doesn’t always happen & what we can do about it.
