I accepted his request in good faith and lent him the only 10-quid note I had in my pocket. Now the coffee shop is about to close, and he never showed up. Only 20 minutes left to prove I’m not a fool – the last time I had money stolen, I was also just trying to help someone…
On my way to the coffee shop I frequent, a man approached me asking for help. He said he needed some money to refuel his tank so he could drive to his mom, and he promised to stop by the coffee shop to return me the money. He looked worried but was incredibly polite.

A bit of good news to end the disastrous week. Happy to share a piece coauthored with my own student for the first time. Many congrats to Jiayi Chen who is lead & corresponding author of this article. In it, we discuss postfeminism on Chinese social media. journals.publishing.umich.ed…
Waking up to see the idiotic results brought a profound sense of dismay; yet, when you start to doubt humanity, it’s messages from friends and colleagues that help you hold on to hope. Was probably too emotionally invested in this stupid election, but I’m still hanging in there.
I’m so afraid of being triggered again. Please don’t let the whole world down like what happened eight years ago 😫😫😫
#NewPubAlert excited to share a short piece led by Dr Yun Pan. In this article, we discuss the linguistic mechanism of evidential expression in social media debates on traditional Chinese medicine. First time co-authoring with PhD classmate. jbe-platform.com/content/jou…
