It is poured when guests arrive, when something is celebrated, and sometimes simply because two people have sat down at the same table. In Dulene, fermented plums are heated slowly in a still, sending alcohol-rich vapor through a cooling pipe until it returns as clear šljivovica. The process takes time, attention, and plenty of opinions from everyone standing nearby.
