Altarnun 2-1 Foxhole Stars The boys came into this game knowing it was huge for there season. On the back of last weekend’s impressive performance the camp was in great mood for this stern test. The game was a bit cagey first half with both sides having a few chances but nothing huge. Then just before half time we was given a penalty. A cross from wide hit the arm of the Foxhole midfielder which the referee seen in perfect view, with Jack Burnley slotting the pen away. The second half was much the same with neither side creating loads. Then on 70 minutes foxhole equalised when a cross from the right was headed in to bring them level. All to play for. After this moment the boys stepped it up with going close a couple of times. Then the match winning moment. Kieran lane had the ball on the left beat two players before slotting home to spark wild celebrations. A first win of the season after a difficult start. We wish @foxholestars all the best for the season ahead. We now travel to @NanpeanAFC next Saturday. Motm: B.Stott Dotd: J.Swanson #UPTHENUNS

After Saturdays eye opening heavy defeat, we knew this game wasn’t going to be easy, callington have started the season in really good form and are showing that by sitting 2nd in the table. The lads were up for this and wanted to react well from Saturday, they started strong and was the better footballing team for majority of the first half, but we did find ourselves go 1-0 down after the ball falling kindly to their striker. We reacted superbly and didn’t let heads drop, and was unfortunate not to go into the half 1-1 after Callington’s keeper finely saved Harris’s effort at goal from an Ambrose pull back. Altarnun were playing some fine football at times, just couldn’t perform the final ball and test the keeper. After pushing up to try and get the equaliser it resulted in Callington counter attacking on us twice and being very clinical in front of goal, resulting in them putting the game to bed and winning 3-0. The lads will be looking to change the last 2 results when they travel to saltash on Saturday. @swsportsnews @Cornishfootball @PLsportsnews @StPiranLeague

Altarnun were heading into their first game of the season hosting St Austell, who have had a very strong start to the season with a newly adapted team. A full 16 players available and a strong warm up the lads looked up the for the game, a few chances created but a lack of test for the St Austell keeper, we found ourselves go 1 down into half time. Second half started and immediately St Austell found themselves 2 up and in total control. Lack of concentration and poor decisions from the lads seen them go 4-0 down and the game out of sight. Japes scored from an Ambrose cross to pull one back, only for St Austell to score 2 more. One to forget for Altarnun and move onto Tuesday night when we travel to Callington. Before the game started, we informed the referee that we would like to hold a minute silence for ex player Danny Moore whose Mum sadly passed last week. Danny spent years at Altarnun and still expresses his love for the club on the sidelines.

The boys came into last night’s late arranged game in good form following the win against a good, young Bradworthy side last time out. St Teath 1sts were the opponent this time and with a solid 3rd place in the league below we knew it wasn’t going to be an easy task! Didn’t take long for the first goal to come with some nice build up play allowing Josh Kingdon the chance to cut in and shoot, giving us a one nil lead with a great finish! The boys continued to dominate with Josh adding his second and Ollie adding the third with some great football on display. 10 minutes before half time we had our fourth with Jack Japes scoring following nice some composure in the box. A great first half from the lads! Second half was a slow start until we scored after a lovely through ball from Josh to his brother Ollie to score the fifth with a tidy finish. The lads continued to play there football but unfortunately St Teath had a Penalty midway through the half which was put away nicely. The story of the night though was goalkeeper Matthew Heynes who was helping the lads came on in the last 10 minutes to score the sixth with a class finish under the keeper! Great scenes to end a great night for the boys! We wish St Teath all the best for the season ahead. Focus now turns to Saturday where we welcome Lifton to Trezibett Man of the match: Ollie Kingdon Dick of the day: Dean Moss for throwing a water bottle when we were 4-0 up #UPTHENUNS
