Macarthur stadium proposal looks promising. Perfect size for them. If it goes ahead, they could go from having the worst atmosphere to one of the best.

Meanwhile Ben Homer in commentary today: "We heard from Bulls chairman Gino Marra before the game that the Camden Council has approved plans for an 8,000-seat stadium at Oran Park and their centre of excellence is progressing along nicely as well."

Guimarães and Ancelotti both complaining about the pitch is not a good look for QLD. Don't expect Suncorp to be much better 4 days after an NRL game. Can't see Brazil being too keen to come back to QLD if this is the surface we serve up. #AUSvsBRA

Cracking assist and decent goal for Jed Drew in Austria overnight. Showing great pace and strength.

Pretty happy for Arzani. Has had such a stop start career but scoring against his former employers Celtic (who didn't give him many chances) in the Europa League has gotta be a career highlight.

.@MelbourneCity 2-game legend Jack Hendry featuring in defence for Scotland. He's gotta be the only non-Oz/NZ player at this tournament with @aleaguemen experience right? #HAISCO

Lucas Herrington (2007) beats out Rob Holding to start on debut for Colorado Rapids.

At the time, Ruben was laughed at for saying this. But it might turn out to be quite prescient, à la Redknapp in 1996 saying Frank Lampard would go "right to the very top".

So happy for Arnie. Finally getting the appreciation he deserves

🇮🇶 This is what it means to Iraq... and they haven't even qualified for the #FIFAWorldCup yet! Incredible scenes in Basra! 😍 #AsianQualifiers | @IraqNT_EN

Poor result for Celtic. Serves them right for how they're treating Tilio.

Hope this show comes back, at least as a podcast. Never missed an episode - it was always my first pick of what to listen to. Simon and Alex - your voices accompanied me over hours of driving, cleaning, mowing & exercising. Made these tasks far less mundane, so thanks.

Some news for those who have asked…sadly, The Global Game won’t be returning to the airwaves, at least for now. I believe the show has been unable to secure sponsors. This is where ⚽️ is in Australia, unfortunately. Thanks to all who listened & all our contributors 👍

Opportunity for Brisbane to surprise a few in this game. People are already writing them off this season but they've had a tough opening three games against arguably the best three teams in the comp and weren't exactly dominated in any of them #BRIvADL

Socceroos lacked players with attacking intent this morning. Hoping to see the likes of Nisbet, Piscopo and maybe even Jakolis in the next window #BHRvAUS #Socceroos

As last night's game demonstrated, @brisbaneroar clearly needs a revamped Perry Park. Hoping that the new QLD Government can make that happen, especially given a big donor to Crisafulli's campaign was his former business partner Rabieh Krayem.

Krayem is a football-mad businessman who has previously chaired Macarthur, Northern Fury, the AAFC and - importantly - the now defunct Brisbane United bid, which was pitching to play out of Perry Park.

If this was an Aussie rugby/cricket/tennis player getting this reception overseas it would be all over the news here. As the league broadcaster, @Channel10AU should be all over this. Maybe @HYBPA can showcase it as one of their sport questions?

Mitch Langerak on the megaphone. His family by his side. Aussie flags everywhere in the Nagoya Grampus home end 🇦🇺❤️ A fitting tribute to a legend of the club, who leaves at the end of the #JLeague season for Melbourne Victory. @nge_official @MitchLangerak25 @J_League_En
