My city cycling motto has always been don’t speed up if you aren’t prepared to stop on a dime. No possible way you can do that on an e-scooter barreling down a bike lane 20mph. gothamist.com/news/cyclists-…

Hanging with the great Dave Costello. After retiring from @EPSNJ with a bunch of state championships, won a whole bunch of Fla regional championships- with no track. Great human being who raised the bar for me & made me a better AT.

@Lowes - Level of incompetence at Lowe’s Marlboro, NJ exceeds even the most acceptable levels found elsewhere. Do not take your money there!

Great mentors are learners as well as teachers. Data: when mentors value insights from below, they're more engaged and effective—and their mentees are more successful. Mentoring is not a transfer of wisdom from one to another. It's a relationship where two people grow together.

If you never question things, your life ends up being limited by other people's imaginations. Take the time to think and dream, to question and reconsider. It is better to be limited by what you can dream for yourself than by where you fit in someone else's dream.

Health & Wellness is something that sometimes is changing day by day. That’s what makes it so much fun & different from traditional classroom subjects- your goalposts keep moving. A perfect subject for project based learning.

& is it that difficult? Hang up hula hoops from backboards. Smaller, softer balls. Music instead of whistles. A little tag or Salsa dancing for warmup. Set them up for success.

True commitment to work-life balance is giving people permission to take other priorities as seriously as their jobs. In burnout cultures, people are expected to drop everything for work. In healthy cultures, people are encouraged to protect time for family, health, and leisure.

Not so sure about this statement. We have to rethink what nutrition education looks like. Obesity epidemic coincided with doing away with home ec- the original “project based learning”. @erik_myer @ImSporticus @Wendi_Irlbeck thoughts?
No amount of nutrition education will EVER solve the obesity epidemic.

21. A company is not a family: xitter.cf/AdamMGrant/status/1478…
A company isn't a family. Parents don't fire their kids for low performance or furlough them in hard times. A better vision for a workplace is a community—a place where people bond around shared values, feel valued as human beings, and have a voice in decisions that affect them.

In a changing world, expertise quickly becomes obsolete without humility and curiosity. Expertise is what you know. Humility is knowing what you don’t know. Curiosity is how much you want to learn. Expertise yields insight today. Humility and curiosity fuel growth tomorrow.
