I think one thing that as a league community that we should do better as a whole is remembering narratives and how teams felt at different points in the year in order to tell their stories. People forget that T1 was considered to be the finals choker team because of all their losses starting at MSI 2022 until they finally won Worlds in 2023. This context makes them becoming one of the most clutch teams at worlds a more incredible story!

I haven’t tweeted about the Faker clip yet because obviously I’m the “T1 hater guy” so anything I say on the matter will be viewed through that lens. But I really don’t like seeing people who are outside the team calling for his benching or using the clip as evidence that he needs a break. Faker is an ultra competitive person who clearly vented his frustration in a suboptimal way but as someone on the outside looking in you cannot make the judgment on what is best for his mental health. I could definitely see a world where the most damaging thing to his mental health could be a restriction on being able to play with his team. The guy has shown how much he cares about competing at the highest level and taking away the most important thing to him could not be the right solution. I believe he should be spoken to and evaluated by people close to the team and everyone should respect the conclusion that the he and the team/mental health professionals come to. He’s the GOAT of our game and I’d hate to see a moment of frustration define his future.
