I cried so much last night and this morning. I have seen lots of messages from different people about things I did for them at different times most of which I don’t even remember.
The truth is I have always believed in my heart that the only reason God has given to me is to give it back.
I think this is God’s way of telling me to also be thankful!!! I have been thinking too much about what I lost instead of thanking God for seeing me through one of the hardest moments of my life.
I am used to always giving and hardly ever receiving because everyone thought I had in abundance. I have also always found it difficult to ask for help. Even if I had to borrow from anyone, I would always return with interest, even without them asking. But I was tested in ways I couldn’t understand these past few years. I asked for help everywhere and anywhere I could think of and I was on the verge of giving it all up!
I would mention his name but he would be really upset. God used one person to settle all that I owed! And this help came over and over again! I don’t think any sane person would do what he did for me without God’s intervention!
So this is me also saying thank you Brother! And I will continue to do so again and again, privately and publicly! Thank you for giving me hope when I thought it was all over. I can’t help but think I have taken your love and kindness for granted but I want you to know that I am forever indebted to you.
To my closest people in the World (Mr Macaroni & Friends) Thank you for not neglecting me even when you had every reason to. Thank you for saving me 😊
To Don Jazzy, who has been giving me since my university days up till now, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do, not just for me but for so many others!!! To my brother Victor Osimhen and Pastor Bolaji!!! Thank youuuu. 🤍
I am in a better place! I am learning and doing things that make me happy. I don’t and will never regret anything I have ever done in my life to make the lives of others better in even the smallest way possible. However, I have learned a lot of lessons these past few years and I am grateful even for the trials and tribulations for which without them I wouldn’t have the clarity of mind I now have.
May the love in our hearts be forever greater than the hate in the world.
Thank you with all my heart. 🤍

At that point in time, neither of them was at the hospital with the child who's fighting for his life.
Perspective matters. That's the way I see it.
Good to see that there was no vandalism.

Heck! Nigerians recognise value when we see it. We subscribed to the Blackberry plans back then! Why should I pay for a shitty software when there's a freemium with a better package?

When I was 9, my mom ran our house like a Soviet ice-cream rationing program; one measly ice-cream per week, per child. As the eldest of four, I took this as a personal insult to my developing capitalist soul.
So I did what any reasonable entrepreneur would do; I cut a deal with the ice-cream man. His currency? My mom’s Benson & Hedges. One cigarette = one glorious, brain-freezing ice-cream. At her one-pack-a-day habit, that worked out to four ice-creams daily. I was living the dream, basically a pint-sized Pablo Escobar with sprinkles.
Of course, my Mom eventually noticed her cigarettes were evaporating faster than my ppcket-money. Suddenly she was carrying them like they were the nuclear codes (tucked in her bra, basically Fort Knox with nicotine).
Plan B had to be made; the ice-cream man, bless his shady heart, opened me a line of credit. “Pay me at the end of the month.” I was nine with an ice-cream tab. I felt like a queen made of sugar.
End of the month rolls around. Doorbell rings. I peek out the window and there he is; Mr. Ola turned leg-breaker, holding a little notebook that apparently contained my entire criminal empire.
I have never run faster in my life. Skinny little chicken legs? More like Olympic-grade getaway sticks. I vaulted fences, dodged rose bushes, and probably set a land-speed record for a 9-year-old powered exclusively by shame and lactose.
My Mom answered the door, had a calm adult conversation, paid the man, and that was the day the ice-cream man was officially banned from our house forever.
After that, whenever I hear that creepy bicycle bell approaching, my fight-or-flight kicks in and I’m halfway down the block before I remember I’m 55 and have health insurance. Childhood trauma now in mint chip flavor.
Abeg who be this guy??
I genuinely don’t know where all of this will eventually lead us as a nation. If the rising tensions and the constant reckless narrative are simply because of the combination of the individuals currently occupying the Presidency, then why can’t we just wait and channel our dissatisfaction through the ballot boxes in 2027?
We all clearly remember the events of the 2023 elections. Neither President Tinubu, his Deputy nor the APC built their campaign around religion. They did not tour mosques preaching religious fear. They did not weaponise faith for political gain. Instead, they focused on experiences and regional balance. But Peter Obi, the very candidate many of propagandists supported, went from church to church framing the election as a religious war and busy calling daddies to help him take the message to their congregations.
I genuinely thought that the Tinubu/Shettima ticket would be seen first and foremost as a Yoruba/Kanuri ticket, two ethnic groups coming together to represent national diversity, as people have been preaching that religion should never come before tribe. But now, because that narrative doesn’t fit the current agenda, suddenly everything is reduced to Muslim/Muslim, as their ethnic identities no longer matter.
If we genuinely care about this country, our politics must be guided by truth, not reckless narratives crafted to inflame sentiment. Nigeria deserves better.

No right or wrong option. In the end personal finance is what it is... personal.
I had a client in Lagos, very rich and liquid guy, was once a bank MD.
The guy was renting, back then he was staying in a house in VI in early 2000's, his rent was N8m. i knew because i wrote the checks to the landlord.
One day i asked him, "why don't you have your own home"
He said,
"Kalu, if i decide to build a house, to my taste, it will cost me N300m. I can use that N300m and make at least N50m a year. This home, whatever i ask the landlord, he does, because he does not want to lose me as a tenant, its painted annually, etc. i don't want to tie down my capital in a home"
Thoughts?
This, my people, is how research is done. The rigour!!
Let me explain the difference between traditional and Western medicine with this pepper soup issue.
Let's say a Western scientist heard this rumor. They'd immediately conduct a study with peppersoup and check if it's correct.
Now let's say they actually found a positive result, i.e, it actually worked, they wouldn't stop there.
They'd reason that surely it can't be the whole pepper soup that's responsible for the effect they're seeing. I mean, first of all, pepper soup is almost entirely water. So what is it? Is the meat? Is it the spices?
So they'd split their study into groups. Some would be fed only the meat, some, only the actual soup.
Let's say the soup group came back positive; they still wouldn't stop there. Surely there are over half a dozen spices in pepper soup. Either it's one of those spices that's causing the effect, or the spices are interacting to cause that effect.
So they'd split up the groups again and cook different kinds of pepper soup, omitting each ingredient each time.
Let's say they did this for a while, and then discovered that the effect only persists when three particular spices are combined and boiled. They still wouldn't stop there.
They'd start studying the chemical properties of those spices before and after they've been cooked. What compounds are in one but not the other?
MEANWHILE, while all of this is going on, there would be another research group trying to analyse what actually happens when women are taking this pepper soup. What happens to their blood pressure? their heart rate? What about their blood lipids?
There would be groups taking blood and adding pepper soup to that blood, and looking at it under the microscope.
All these different groups would be firing papers at one another.
Usually, what this leads to is the isolation of a single compound that was actually responsible for the effect THE ENTIRE TIME.
Then once we have the compound, we can start studying its properties, using the research from the peppersoup blood guys. Does this thing accumulate in the bloodstream? Does it trigger immune responses or cause inflammation? Does it degrade into a known dangerous chemical? Does it trigger cancerous cells? That's how we understand all the known side effects.
And the funniest thing is that this compound may also appear in another random place. Like maybe it also comes out as a waste product when refining petrol or some shit.
Then, since we have the compound, we know how it works, and we know it's a byproduct of an industrial process, we start setting up a factory to mass-produce it for the public.
After all this, we have gone from
> Drinking pepper soup to flush things.
to
> Taking a single pill that's 100x cheaper and 100x more concentrated and effective, to do the same thing.
A layman could look at this and be like, "Why the hell are these people using waste product from refineries to us as drugs?" but they wouldn't get it.
They just wouldn't get it.
Dennis The Menace 🤣
growing up, my parents were convinced that I was possessed by demons for these simple reasons:
1. I broke our TV twice!
2. I woke up one day and used scissors to cut open the back of every sofa we owned in our house.
3. I broke our glass cabinet with expensive plates in it because our maid tried to caution me from playing football with my friends in our very big parlour!
4. I broke both legs twice from playing football; two in Command Children School, one at a mechanic garage and the other at the field opposite our house. then there were small small dislocations here and there. but hey, I never broke my hands more than once so that’s something to celebrate! 🤭
5. in primary 5, I climbed our double fridge playing only to come down with a very deep fan blade cut that made them rush me straight into surgery! the fan cut my head 😭😭😭!
6. all together I have been stitched 5 times in this life: my lips, my head, two of my hands and very close to my eyes.
7. I pushed a very big water drum that fell on me, people thought I had died! only to wake up running!
8. I went to the bush one day to hide and pluck mangoes, bath with tap water so long so my parents can declare me missing and get into a hunt to rescue me. I was missing for over 7 hours. they indeed came to search for me. I was in primary 4. I have the mark I got from the beating till today on my arm.
9. I rented two old people in talata market, kaduna to come pose as my parents in command because of something I did in school that warranted me to call my parents! my own parents found out and I nearly died that day. that was the first of many times I witnessed a co-joined parental beating!
10. I convinced a mechanic that I was an orphan and I needed to learn how to make money for myself and he believed. his name is Emeka. I already started the mechanic work until fate brought my dad to that Kawo garage with his one day and he caught me in very dirty mechanic clothes and that was when the secret came out. He couldn’t believe his own eyes but I won’t say what my eyes saw that day but I will stop here! 🙈
Mind you, I was the only child of my parents and they love me like their lives.
Don’t you think they overreacted? I was just a boy 🙈🤭🙈😂!
Let me know your thoughts!

You remember the youngster Paul whose sponsors decided to stop funding his education since last year because he dropped out of seminary school?
Today, he has now been offered admission to Study Medicine and Surgery at Ebonyi State University.
Through ISEE (isee.ng) we will support his education journey through the end.
