The US's incursion into Venezuela has brought attention to investing opportunities in LatAm, according to Allspring Global Investments senior portfolio manager Derrick Irwin.

"Companies are holding on to their older employees, and they're slow to hire their younger employees," Allspring Global Investments' George Bory says. He attributes the decline to AI, the maturity of the economic cycle, a new tariff backdrop, and overall population growth.

Maulik Bhansali, senior portfolio manager at Allspring Global Investments, believes this is a time to exploit volatility.

"The market's expecting two rate cuts between now and the end of the year," Allspring Global Investments strategist George Bory says. He also discusses the ADP Private Payrolls report and how slower hiring may impact the Fed's rate path going forward:

"Because of the adoption of new technologies like AI, the pace of disruption is accelerating, and those disruptive forces are creating winners and losers in every industry each day," Allspring Global Investments senior portfolio manager Mike Smith says.

“We don’t think the consumer is in as good of shape as they were a couple of years ago,” Allspring Global Investments senior portfolio manager Noah Wise says.

"There is the big question mark as to how tariffs are going to work their way through the system," AllSpring Global Investments strategist George Bory says. "They may ultimately be inflationary."

"We are still constructive on [economic] growth for this year," Allspring Global Investments' Janet Rilling says. However, "corporate leaders are starting to slow play their strategic decisions, ... and that does lead to a lower view in terms of growth outlook."

“The Fed’s in a bit of a box, inflation is ticking higher, most importantly inflation expectations are ticking higher, which changes consumer behavior.” Allspring Global Investments senior portfolio manager Bryant VanCronkhite says. “All that could lead to a growth scare.”

"Even if we go into a recession, I think it's likely to be mild," Allspring Global Invesments' @AnnMiletti says. "Things are, generally speaking, pretty strong in the economy."

The "Bank of Japan, obviously, is the one central bank in the world tightening policy while everyone else is either easing or on hold," Allspring Global Investments' Lauren Van Biljon says. "This is the first time [the] Bank of Japan has raised rates in a generation."

“I think jobs have always been the disease and inflation the symptom,” Allspring Global Investments senior portfolio manager Bryant Vancronkhite says. ”The Fed now has permission to act, but will they do it fast enough is the key question for the markets right now.”

"We do expect a 25 basis point rate cut on Sept. 18," AllSpring Global Investments senior portfolio manager Jeff Weaver says. "We'll probably see a 25 basis point rate cut again in November and then again in December."
