It’s a sad day for cycling losing Raphael Geminiani. For some reason I feel a loss even though I only met him a couple of times. A big bear of a man. One of the greats, maybe not in wins but in charisma passed away at 99. The Gem. Old school. RIP

Once again, the funding model for pro cycling teams is being criticised as unsustainable. But beware. Any other funding model would require you, the cycling fan, to have to pay, one way or another, to consume something you pretty much get for free at the moment.

I prefer Sean Kelly’s take on this, there was no reason not to wait when he was in trouble, they could have backed off and guided him in. After all the loyalty he has shown they still kick him, Kuss is a champion and this could make his career. Team-mates attacking you, well….
