Huge thanks to @AllanConlin for being a great host on the Isle of Scilly this week. 35K steps today - 3 Lapland Bunting. Isabelline Shrike, 2 Jack Snipe, 3 Yellow-browed Warblers, 6 Firecrest and 4 Convulvolus Hawkmoth around St Mary’s today @OwenPar91687609 @saturdaycatbird
Who doesn't love a Shrike ❤️.. Especially a Scilly Izzy and a Scilly tick for me. Resisted the twitch for four hours whilst I birded the far side of the island before my resolve broke and I hoiked across St Marys. #Daurian
There are some great photos out there of the Porthellick Sora. Sadly these aint them 😉 Despite being present nearly a week this was my first sighting of only my 4th UK Sora. Big thanks to @01000011S & his 21st century apparatus for getting me on the bird..👌🏝 #lazytwitching

A nice surprise on an optimistic seawatch today. With the WNW winds only just beginning I didn't have much faith, but this close in leach's petrel past Leasowe gunsite made it worth it! Lots of scoters on the move, but not much else. @CAWOSBirding
Back from Cape Clear🇮🇪 . Scilly 26, part ||. 🏝🏝🏝
The Upland Sand didn't stay for me but happy enough to pick up the long staying Short t Lark & Lap Bunt on Peninnis after an " interesting " sail over from Penzance ...🌊🌊🌊

BLACK STORK - Watercolour on block, a lovely summers day in August was very lucky to get to Parkgate on the Wirral on time, as I arrived the birds had taken flight from the marsh and circled in the heat of the day, it was very hazy as these birds circled above and flew in land.
My world tour of Ireland 🇮🇪continues with a flying visit to one of Europe's premiere seawatch sites. Only seawatchers of a certain vintage 😉 will recognise these pics . Had some great times here during the 20 tens .Not sure as many UK birders still go as they did back then 🤔

What a week it has been! Our last day saw first 2 YBW of the year, 2 Pied Fly, 2 Brambling, Redpolls, Siskins, Redwing, Willow Warblers and a dog Otter that took and eat a Shag! Pictures too gory to show here 🫣 massive thanks to @AllanConlin 🙏 @bordanoostlodge @OwenPar91687609
Quiet bird wise these last 5 days on Cape Clear 🇮🇪 but did see a C Lizard , Fastnet Rock & Coinlin Towers (Cape version). Spotted two difficult to separate species. Both with all black body, one with brownish undertones & a creamy coloured crown. Possible Ssp Murphyii 😉

Today was all about Mammals on Unst - stunning Otter views, Minke Whales, Risso’s + White-beaked Dolphins, Porpoise off Haroldswick in flat calm seas. Amazing! Bird highlights - Merlin, Redwing, Great-northern Diver, Snow Buntings and Wheatears👍@OwenPar91687609 @bordanoostlodge
A great bit of video here from Stevie T of one of my favourite seabirds and of course a bird that #Wirral is 'famed' for. #LeachsPetrel
Just a short video clip of a Leach's Storm Petrel 'walking on water'. Incredible how these small tubenoses survive out in the open sea during stormy weather....
