Donald Trump is making a deliberate attempt to overwhelm the system, and to overwhelm you. It can be difficult to keep up. And that’s by design.
But we can keep up – and respond. Here’s what he’s doing, and what it means for you. Just the facts. 🧵⤵️

“School choice” is a misnomer.
There is no choice for most parents in these voucher scams.
It’s the private school’s choice:
•Is your kid the right religion?
•Is your kid smart enough?
•Well behaved enough?
•Can the parents pay the rest of the $25k tuition?
School choice programs have been wildly successful under DeSantis. Now public schools might close. ow.ly/EUAF105utkC

Why would Texas opt out of a program that feeds hungry kids in the summer? This is shameful.
This year, 35 states will participate in a $2.5 billion federal nutrition program that will help low-income parents buy groceries for their kids in the summer.
But Texas, which has 3.8 million kids eligible for the program, has opted out of the effort. bit.ly/3OU5lbk

8 out of 10 TX school districts will have a deficit budget in 2024 because of the lack of funding by our state government! Sitting on a surplus but holding districts hostage to Abbott’s demands. We must save our public schools!

Linda Darling-Hammond: "If we taught babies to talk the way that most skills are taught in school, they would memorize lists of sounds in a predetermined order and practice them alone in a closet."

Great questions from @JamesClear today: For each headache you face, ask yourself, "Is this mostly real or mostly imagined?" Solve the real problems, release the imaginary ones."
