20 hours after the story first broke out, Irish MSM realised they couldn't ignore it any longer and reported it (RTE). The hotels reaction is very interesting to me. They aren't making a comment on it. They could say many things which may help their PR. They could deny it, or they could say they are investigating, hence pushing the problem down the line when people don't care as much (cough cough @AIGinsurance cough). But they're not doing that. Instead, this hotel has decided not to comment. And this is very telling. Herbert Park Hotel know that many people in Ireland will not care that a Jewish group was cancelled because they are fighting antisemitism. They know that the paddystinians will be straight into social media, smearing Jews as much as they can to discredit us. They know this will be down voted on Irish reddit, will be filled with hateful comments towards Jews on Instagram and unfortunately, will be vilified in conversations across Ireland IRL. Herbert Park has likely correctly identified that, in Ireland, you can discriminate against Jews, and then ignore it when called out, and get away with it Scott free. In fact, you might even be praised for it, which is happening as we speak.

As Simon eloquently says, antisemitism has always been about portraying Jews as the opposite of what society wants to be at a given point in time. The idea that Jews are the arch colonialists is completely ridiculous, but it matches the pattern perfectly. This is how you can get mind-bending situations like a 29 year old Canadian, who lives on land where the indigenous people barely even exist anymore due to colonialism, shooting at a Jewish synagogue in Canada over a conflict in the Middle East.
