Almost unbelievable for NICE to point to midwife examinations when studies have shown they’re unreliable in predicting breech births. If we care about women and babies then routine 36 week scans are a no-brainer theguardian.com/society/2023…

We are appalled by the Prime Minister’s comments on child detention.
Immigration detention is incredibly traumatic for children and causes psychological and developmental harm.
The UK government must put the best interests of children first.

Against a backdrop of spiralling costs, the Government has yet to confirm it will increase benefits in-line with inflation. We're urging @RishiSunak to stick to his word, and keep to this commitment.

The worst thing about all this political free fall is that real, life and death things are happening at home and all across the world and our leaders are completely distracted
“We can’t wait for declaration of famine, people are dying now… huge numbers will die, mainly children… the UK is very involved in the discussions but not putting resources on the table”
MM Hassan (@SaveChildrenSO) tells parliamentary briefing on the East Africa huger crisis.
Re-sharing this as we think about how we respond as a sector to cuts to services and welfare in coming weeks - how we get out of this economic mess as a country isn't a question of if the right policy solutions exist, its about the *values* we use to chose the policy solutions

The Chancellor just promised that his priority will always be the most vulnerable. Low-income families need reassurance now that benefits will rise in with inflation. Anything less will signal that the poorest children and families will pay for this most costly of gvmt mistakes.
