With her lonely stand for Palestine, Sally Rooney has exposed the contemporary literary world as a nest of cowards and careerists Where are all the Doris Lessings, Harold Pinters, John Bergers, Graham Greenes, Samuel Becketts that once raised their voices against war and injustice? Rooney stands almost alone

When I voted against proscribing Palestine Action, I warned there could be so many draconian consequences. We've had the ridiculous arrests of thousands for simply holding a sign. And now this against one of the best writers of her generation. This ban needs to be overturned.

Look, it's okay to say "Nazism is racism", because it is. That doesn't mean you hate regular Germans. Same with "Apartheid is racism" and South Africans, "Segregation is racism" and Americans, and "Zionism is racism" and Jews. Anyone who says otherwise is being disengenuous.

Simon said he had more to reveal - but he has now been suicided.
I am the British whistleblower who reported evidence concerning Howard Lutnick, his links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC to the FBI in 2020–21. Listen to the BBC File on 4 documentary about my whistleblower story: bbc.com/audio/play/m002yx47 BBC News: bbc.com/news/articles/c9q28d… I later shared evidence with the House Oversight Committee, which subsequently questioned Lutnick behind closed doors. My disclosures also contributed to regulatory action in the US and UK, including a £96m HMRC tax assessment relating to BGC’s partnership scheme. I believe the true tax exposure is substantially higher. I also reported to the FBI and financial regulators matters involving Cantor Fitzgerald’s Relief Fund and BGC/Cantor’s annual 9/11 Charity Day. The personal consequences of whistleblowing, and the retaliation I say followed, have been devastating for my family and me. Mother Jones previously reported that documents I uncovered revealed a years-long business tie between Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald and Jeffrey Epstein through AdFin, including a 2018 exchange in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed the company directly: motherjones.com/politics/202… motherjones.com/politics/202… Follow me here on X and on LinkedIn. I intend to share more of the evidence and the story behind what happened.

It’s all the wrong way round.
The BIG question… I’ve been saying this for a while…

Pleased I joined now.
The Green Party have just finished their autumn conference, and they got a LOT done! Dropping their opposition to nuclear energy, demanding a fully publicly owned NHS that extends to GPs, dentistry, ophthalmology etc and demanding that nature is seen as a national security issue. However, the media remain in meltdown over the Zionism is Racism motion, and their billionaire owners probably aren’t happy about some of the Greens’ new proposals. So lets take a look at 10 of the most important proposals passed! 1. A fully publicly owned NHS The Greens are calling for a fully publicly owned NHS. They are demanding that GPs, dentistry, ophthalmology and allied health all be returned to public hands. This comes at a time when NHS privatisation is at an all time high. Labour introduced PFI, the Tories ramped up privatisation, and Labour are now once more continuing it. However, the Greens are demanding a return to the original NHS constitution. This is an awesome policy demand. 2. Abandoning opposition to Nuclear energy This is an interesting one. Many of my friends have never understood why the Greens are opposed to nuclear energy given its potential. Many still see it is as expensive and inefficient. Either way, dropping opposition to it being part of a complete energy strategy is a HUGE change for the greens. 3. A three-year freeze on rents This was a policy announced by Zack. At a time when the cost of living crisis is taking over, and extortionate rents are crippling a generation, the Greens have stepped forward to demand rent controls. A three-year rent freeze would give renters the chance to pause for breath in the knowledge that their rents wont rise against until at least the end of 2029. 4. Nature as a security issue A lot of the commentary online centres around the Greens losing their focus on the environment, but this simply isn’t true. The Greens are asking the biodiversity and nature crisis be treated as a national security issue, and get given the focus it deserves. This proves that ecology remains at the heart of the Green agenda. 5. Mutualising the BBC Rather than abolishing the BBC or privatising it, the Greens are calling for its return to public control as well as ownership. This would give the British people much more control over their state broadcaster, rather than handful of posh toffs. The licence fee would be abolished and replaced with direct public funding. 6. Water back in public ownership As Labour promise to think about public ownership somewhen in the future, the Greens are promising to do it right now. This forms part of the nature as a security issue policy and it is a HUGELY welcome policy. 7. Halving animal farming At a time of nature crisis, the Greens want to move to bring in security for farming, but also to remove the focus on intensive animal farming which is bad for the planet. Farmers will be supported to transition to more sustainable agriculture and this will also contribute to Britain's food security. 8. Food price intervention The Greens have called for direct intervention into food pricing, meaning that prices are kept fair for the consumer (and for producers and farmers) to stop the gross profiteering and to ensure food security for the people. 9. Local Authorities encouraged to support BDS This motion allows councils to support and enact BDS. BDS is the ability to boycott, divest and sanction, such as in the case of opposing genocide by divesting from Israeli firms. 10. Zionism is Racism This is the final motion I will discuss as it has dominated the political discussion since the motion. Essentially, this motion calls the ideology of Zionism racist, and calls for one state with fair and equal treatment of all in it (regardless of race, religion or ethnicity). Who could argue with that? The only alternative is an apartheid state and genocide as we are seeing now. The motion does not call all Zionists racist as the media have suggested, but calls the ideology which ultimate calls for the removal of Palestinians from their land as inherently racist. The motion recognises that not all Zionists are Jewish and that not all Jews are Zionists, and does not conflate the political ideology with the religion. The Greens will always fight all forms of racism and oppression, including the racist oppression of the Palestinian people. The Greens continue to stand against all forms of oppression and to call for all peoples (Jewish, Palestinian and indeed all peoples) to have the same security, rights and legal protections. What a conference!

Some things the British media and political class have reacted hysterically to during Israel's genocide: - The Maccabi Tel Aviv fan ban - Bob Vylan - Gary Lineker - The Green Party motion Something they have not reacted hysterically to: - The genocide

Simon has been found dead, reportedly from "suicide." RIP to Simon and to all whistleblowers who have died too young. The truth about Lutnick will never die

The fact the British media is angrier about a "Zionism is racism" motion than about Zionists committing genocide speaks volumes about the British media

I think every Labour MP screaming that the Greens are now a racist, antisemitic party should directly explain why they think Stephen Kapos, a Holocaust survivor and supporter of the motion, is racist.

Yes-Until the Gaza genocide, many questioned how to resolve the "Israeli-Palestinian problem". But now more realize that the Zionist project from inception required elimination of an indigenous population and at its core it's defective. The whole enterprise is rightly questioned.

The ‘Zionism is racism’ motion will likely damage Zack Polanski’s chance of winning the Holborn & St Pancras by-election. Given the tone of news coverage this morning voters undecided about the Greens may be put off. The motion itself was one of around 200 tabled. It’s likely that witnessing the Gaza genocide and the inaction of world leaders got the motion over the line; of course it was Hitler’s genocide of the Jews that accelerated the establishment of Israel. My personal view is that while the desire for self determination by any group of people is not inherently racist. However, if, in practice, that self determination results in displacement, ethnic cleaning, bureaucratic apartheid, and mass killings then that is racism.
