A few readers have taken me to task for “missing the point of the film,” which is apparently that Elizabeth Holmes is unknowable and everything is ambiguous. Here’s my response: She went after Tyler Shultz and Erika Cheung with everything she had. I was threatened with litigation on a daily basis for months on end. It was a ruthless cover-up of a breathtaking fraud, and she was at the controls. Just a little context for those who have forgotten or didn’t follow the original story. By the way, I loved the film. #BestPicture, IMO.
A ton of people have asked me for my thoughts about “You Can See Everything,” the new Elizabeth Holmes documentary. Here they are: nytimes.com/2026/10/17/busin… via @NYTimes

Kimberly Guilfoyle was preparing for her congressional hearing to become U.S. ambassador to Greece when she reached out to a Trump donor with an urgent request: She needed $100,000 that she said she owed American Express—in a way that wouldn’t leave a paper trail.
“It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express,” she wrote on Signal, according to messages reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. “Please.”

NEW: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently said in an interview that he believes in the idea of "fired if fired upon" in how to respond to people.
Inside Treasury, his management of the agency has featured him, at times, ripping into agency staff and battling with officials leading to multiple departures.
Some of his defenders, including former Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, admit Bessent has a temper, is intense, passionate and demanding but that's all by design to keep Treasury staff in check with the president's agenda. "He brings a Wall Street mentality to Washington," another said.
Our deep dive on what's been happening in an agency that's seen high turnover with alumni of Bessent's hedge fund coming in to help him.
