Random Rwandan sports minister is a more serious person than the presidents of most African nations
“F1 is part of the much bigger picture. Long term strategy to position Rwanda as a hub for tourism, investment and services.”

I’m sorry but we stood no chance 😭 You look at the calibre of people other countries appoint as ministers and then look at South Africa. Rwanda has a Sports Minister with a degree in Economics and a Master’s in Economic Policy Management. Ours his background includes a criminal conviction with no qualifications. We even have a Minister of Defence with no military rank. The difference in the standards we accept for public office is staggering.

The reason Valtteri Bottas was so far behind Sergio Perez in Singapore was due to brake overheating issues.
The fin was losing over a second a lap due to the issue but has now said it should be resolved for the rest of the season✅
Bottas also said that Cadillac will bring a major change to the brake cooling system for the 2027 car🔜

On this day in 2009, we witnessed one of Lewis Hamilton's best Formula 1 wins in Singapore
- His 3th pole position of the season. He finished with a total of 4, no one else achieved more that year
- His 2nd win of the season. He would finish the year tied on wins with Webber (Red Bull) and Barrichello (Brawn GP)

Some driving style observations from Baku:
It’s no shock to see Russell and Piastri simultaneously excelling whilst Hamilton and Norris struggled more.
HAM and NOR rely on heavy braking zones to generate their tyre temps, whereas RUS and PIA do it via higher lateral loads.
With these engines removing the heavier braking zones with the excessive clipping, HAM and NOR struggled to get their tyres working in the race.
VER and LEC are somewhere in the middle.

🗣️ Max on Robert Kubica: “Robert, he is still a fantastic driver. He had a lot of talent. If you ask anyone in this paddock or previous people who have raced with him, he was destined, for even greater things to achieve in F1. But unfortunately, of course, the accident happened.”
“I still follow WEC a lot, and to see him race, and how he does, it's fantastic. For him to win Le Mans is, for everyone, a dream. And to see him achieve it was really nice to see.”
