It was such a delight chatting to BAM, you'd never have known one of them managed to spill coffee and hit their head during it. Make sure you listen to their podcast 'The Bam Hole' and grab a ticket or 11 for their first live show this Saturday at Cheerful Earful Festival.
BLAM! Episode 84 has struck with special guest, BAM! Alex spoke to Bec & Sam back in the summer about reality shows, railcards and really catchy songs. Enjoy! 🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞

It was so lovely of Imogen to invite me round to her garden to record our chat and it was super to speak to her!

THE HOLDOVERS - I absolutely loved this film! Alexander Payne ('Sideways') delivers a witty, smart, and deeply moving story. I love that it's shot in the style of a 60s movie (right down to the opening idents) as well. The 3 lead cast members give incredible performances! (All4)

THE ROCK - A Michael Bay film where Nicholas Cage is a chemical weapons expert, Sean Connery is a notorious convict and they both have to break into Alcatraz to stop Ed Harris exacting revenge on America. It shouldn't work but it weirdly does. It's bizarre and rather brilliant!

Isolation Cinema viewings to end September and begin October.

GET CARTER - A very stern Michael Caine seeks out revenge on the gang that killed his brother. Set in the proper nasty grime-and-grit of 1960s London, this film is relatively bleak but also tense and compelling viewing. Caine is brilliantly cold. (iPlayer)

REBECCA (1940) - This is a stunningly made adaptation by Hitchcock, full of suspense and unease, even if some of the dialogue is just a little dated. The cast are fantastic - Judith Anderson as Mrs. Danvers is haunting. A stylishly executed psychological drama!

Sorry, Duo, errm... What? Yes it's a 'previous mistake' because first time round I didn't think that was going to be the actual sentence.

I had a fabulous chat with Joz which took place at my flat on another extremely hot day.
Episode 82 is fresh out the box with special guest, JOZ NORRIS (BBC's 'Horrible Science')! Alex spoke to Joz in person about being silly, choreographing chaos, and doing Edinburgh Fringe every year. Apologies for the fan in the background (and we don't mean a groupie).

I'm a big fan of Bebe's solo shows so it was lovely chatting to her just before Fringe and fascinating hearing about her thoughts and process. Enjoy!
Episode 81 is now hanging in your podcast gallery with special guest, BEBE CAVE (ITV's 'Victoria', C4's 'Hang Ups')! Alex spoke to Bebe about muses, musings, and the mysticism of the Edinburgh Fringe. Pour yourself a 'Bugs-Bunny-on-a-Freight-Train' and give it a listen.

September's first set of films from the Isolation Cinema, with two colour titles bookending two black-and-white titles like some kind of backwards Oreo.

PAPER MOON - What a gorgeous film! The most incredible dynamic between Ryan and Tatum O'Neil as two total grifters. I can't believe this was Tatum's first film, she is unbelievably good. It's hilarious, exciting, touching and beautifully made. Highly recommend!

MOTHERS INSTINCT - This is a pretty depressing number but if tragedy, obsession and deep-seated paranoia is your thing then give it a whirl. I will say, Anne Hathaway can play unhinged really well. (iPlayer)
